The Throne of the Third Heaven of the Nations' Millennium General Assembly by James Hampton Gallery Label "Where there is no vision, the people perish" — Proverbs 29:18 (King James Version) posted on the wall of Hampton's garage James Hampton's entire artistic output is this single work which he called The Throne of the Third Heaven of the Nations' Millennium General Assembly. Hampton worked for more than fourteen years on his masterwork in a rented garage, transforming its drab interior into a heavenly vision, as he prepared for the return of Christ to earth. The Throne is his attempt to create a spiritual environment that could only have been made as the result of a passionate and highly personal religious faith. Hampton's full creation consists of 180 components—only a portion of which are on view.

jyoujo on deviantART Ritual Fields » Before I Die By the next day, the wall was filled with responses bursting into the margins: Before I die I want to… follow my childhood dream, see my daughter graduate, abandon all insecurities, straddle the International Date Line, get my wife back, see my students become teachers, be ok with not understanding, be someone’s cavalry, hold her one more time, be completely myself. The gamut of humanity was on full display, and the wall became an honest mess of the longing, pain, joy, insecurity, gratitude, fear, and wonder you find in every community. As she read through the responses, Candy understood her neighbors in new ways and she was reminded that she was not alone as she tried to make sense of life.

13 Hyper-realistic Sculptures by Ron Mueck While many artists strive to glamorize, and portray our world to be better than it actually is, others simply find art in our ordinary lives and our simple bodies. Mueck is one of those artists, and is now well known for his super realistic sculptures where he portrays humans at key stages in the life cycle, from birth through middle age, to death. Ron Mueck, now working in the United Kingdom, was born in 1958 in Melbourne, Australia. The son of German-born toy-makers, he grew up making creatures, puppets and costumes in his spare time, experimenting with materials and techniques.

He interned twelve actual refugee applicants in a large shipping container and streamed their life over the web for the week. As in any 'reality TV' show, the audience was allowed to vote their least favourite player out of the compound - and, in this case, out of the country.

Ron Mueck 'Mask II' by Mueck (2001-2), believed to be a self-portrait Early work[edit] Mueck moved on to establish his own company in London, making photo-realistic props and animatronics for the advertising industry. Although highly detailed, these props were usually designed to be photographed from one specific angle hiding the mess of construction seen from the other side. Mueck increasingly wanted to produce realistic sculptures that looked perfect from all angles.

COTW Surf Artist California and Ecuador Laguna Beach, California (Ecuadorian) Article by Mike Stice from the Laguna Art Museum. Above portrait by Scott Soens. If it was up to Wolfgang Bloch, what you are reading would be printed on post-consumer waste recycled and process chlorine free (PCW and PCF) matte paper. Not just because no trees are cut down in the making of such paper, but also because it feels good to the touch and, strangely, despite how far removed it is from its mother the tree, looks like something closer to nature than its over-industrialized, glossy cousin.
