25 To Do Lists to Stay Productive I come across many services a day while researching for Solution Watch, and as many of you know, I take a lot of notes to organize my thoughts about them. Until recently, the only method that I used to keep organized with the services I wanted to write about was by reviewing my notes and email, then selecting one from the list. Now, I’ve learned to review all my notes at the end of the day and add each service that I would like to review to an organized to do list. The problem I was having was that I would write all these notes, but I wouldn’t always get to writing about the services I wanted because sometimes I simply forgot (A Not-To-Do List) or the service got carried to the bottom of my notes archive. There are a few things I look for when working with an online to do list. Top 5 To Do Lists: (No Specific Order) Orchestrate uses a unique method to help you ogranize your to do lists. Ta-da List, a 37signals product, has always been at the top of my list. More Online To Do Lists:

To keep thing simple, the mockup only shows how Twitter sources might work. The final implementation would take information from many different sources. Make sure to click on the image to see the full-sized version. The stream management system is shown on the left, and one possible version of a “published” storystream is on the right. Here is a quick explanation of the stream management system. Pump The main feed will be a stream of tweets based on a Twitter search. Repeated messages will not show in the top pane, instead, they’ll show once in the bottom pane shows, along with the number of times they have been retweeted. Filter Holding bin The holding bin is where questionable tweets go for further investigation and verification when time permits. Storystream Storystream editor Thoughts?

- Beaucoup (trop ?) 4. - Bug sous Opéra et Internet Explorer 5.

The Seven Needs of Real-Time Curators I keep hearing people throw around the word “curation” at various conferences, most recently at SXSW. The thing is most of the time when I dig into what they are saying they usually have no clue about what curation really is or how it could be applied to the real-time world. So, over the past few months I’ve been talking to tons of entrepreneurs about the tools that curators actually need and I’ve identified seven things. First, who does curation? Bloggers, of course, but blogging is curation for Web 1.0. But NONE of the real time tools/systems like Google Buzz, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, give curators the tools that they need to do their work efficiently. As you read these things they were ordered (curated) in this order for a reason. This is a guide for how we can build “info molecules” that have a lot more value than the atomic world we live in now. A curator is an information chemist. So, what are the seven needs of real time curators? 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 1. 1.

This phenomenon is not a failure to plan, but rather, a failure to execute. […] While there are many possible explanations for the root cause of the gap, the one common, recurring element is a stubborn, nagging blind spot: People issues. They won’t go away.
