20 Educational iPad Apps Perfect for Every Classroom January 18, 2017 Here is a list of some useful iPad apps we have been working on over the last few days. We tried to come up with what think are 20 educational apps perfect for every classroom. We were actually inspired by iTunes app list under the same title but the apps included there were definitely not what we expected to see. So we went ahead and dived into our archive and picked out the titles below. We know there are several other wonderful apps to be added here but for practical reasons we only limited our collection to 20 apps. If you are a teacher using or planning to use iPad in your instruction, the list below is definitely a great place to start with.

You don’t have to use computers to teach all the topics though, and even if you have no computing background as a teacher you may be surprised how much you know! We have created a spin-off from cs4fn for younger students to find out more about the fun side of computing called A Little Bit of cs4fn. It is still being developed, but already has areas on Spies, Superheroes, Robots, AIs and more. Flipped Classroom: Engaging Students with EdPuzzle The flipped classroom model is a blended learning strategy I use to present my vocabulary, writing, and grammar instruction online. Students watch videos at home where they can control the pace of their learning, then they come to class prepared to apply that information in collaborative student-centered activities. One thing I emphasize when I lead professional development for teachers is the importance of flipping and engaging. Instead of simply consuming information, I want students to think critically about that information. This requires that I design flipped lessons that encourage students to ask questions, analyze the information, and discuss concepts with peers asynchronously online to begin making sense of the information they are receiving at home.
