Plaine de l'aire masterplan Geneve Showing image 5 of 44 Located at the junction of three distinct forms of development – rural, suburban, and industrial – the challenge of developing the Cherpines site is to retain something of all three while creating something new. Rather than developing the site along standard zoning guidelines, with buffers promoting physical and social segregation, we propose a more integrated gradient of building sizes in order to promote a smoother programmatic transition from the industrial area of Ziplo to the low density housing and farming communities. This simple gesture has several benefits.

Vitor Penha What is it about Brazillian design that makes it so hot?! It's bold and brash, brave and beautiful. It's never precious but always fun. This is the portfolio of São Paulo architect Vitor Penha. GeoPathfinder GeoPathfinder.com has moved to new addresses! The information on this page is no longer being updated or maintained. Hopefully, you may be inspired to try building your own solar food dryer, maybe even one like the model we designed, shown further below. We have type 304 stainless steel, plain weave, 12-mesh, .018" wire size, dryer screening available for immediate shipment. Of course, food that is fresh is best, but our Minnesota winters challenge that approach. Basic Design Principles:

DK Club by Ismini Karali DK Club is the new project of Interior Architect – Creative Director, Ismini Karali, a small but outstanding place at the Old Port of Chania, Crete, Greeece. Every style has benefits to the people who will enjoy the home for many years to come. Many styles were born out of previous styles and have evolved into a distinct type of decorating for a certain feel. Each of the following designs expresses personality and taste specific to an era. 1. Shabby Chic British look that incorporates all-white interior walls, floors, and ceilings accented with vintage items resting on distressed furniture. 2. Softer colour contrasts highlight the art on the walls as the visual emphasis. 5. Bulky, comfortable chairs set against the stark lines of tables with metal legs. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11.

Terra Preta Toilets Urine diversion terra preta toilets are dry terra preta sanitation (TPS) systems based on urine diversion, lacto-fermentation, the addition of charcoal and vermicomposting to produce lasting and highly fertile soils with properties similar to the terra preta soils (GENSCH 2010 b). Pre-Columbian native populations generated terra preta soils, literally “black earth”, by incorporating large amounts of charred residues (charcoal) either produced intentionally or as a by-product from human activity into the soil together with nutrient-rich material (GLASER 2006). Nutrient-rich material was used to be human and animal manure (rich in P and N), waste including mammal and fish bones (rich in P and Ca), ash residues of incomplete combustions (rich in Ca, Mg, K, P and charcoal) or plant biomass (e.g. kitchen wastes, compost, algae etc.) (GLASER 2006).

Catskills Cottage « ECLECTIC LIVING HOME Catskills Cottage 15Aug12 It’s true, we don’t do much shabby chic or Victorian style here at Eclectic Living, actually, we do none at all. I, however, love this getaway. Many of you may have seen this little cottage before on the NY Times feature but if you haven’t seen it or read the article, you are in for a tiny little treat. pb Like this: Like Loading...
