Ricoh GXR M Mount A12 Features The Ricoh GXR M Mount A12 comes with a plastic widget to make sure that the Leica M lens you are using won't make contact with the electronic shutter in the unit. Hi Steve, I would like to share with you my enthousiasm for the lovely combo I’ve recently purchased, Ricoh GXR mount + Zeiss ZM 35mm f2.

Daily Inspiration #280 by Devid Mosca

I was looking for a solid small combo with high IQ and a budget suitable for my pocket, a “poor man” M9 alternative, to use were I have no chance to take SLR + lenses with me. I had NEX5 before. Great sensor with his lenses, but I was somehow unsatisfied by the combination with the Biogon: the “Zeiss” look and colours were not as expected and corners were extremely soft.

I’ve found GXR to keep the lens original colour and drawing very well, incredibly sharp edge to edge even wide open. I hope this can be interesting for you. Thank you for your interesting website. Why buy a whole new camera every time a new generation of sensor comes along – you asked, and many are still asking. The answer is – because few companies have the moxie to make such a device. Ricoh does, and has. But, until now Ricoh didn't quite get it right. With the just shipping (September, 2011) Mount A12 (catchy name isn't it?) Leaves and Window – Clearview, Ontario. Ricoh GXR A12 Leica M Mount Module – My quick take…by Steve Huff

Ashwin basically wrote the review so what I am going to do is shoot with it for the next month or so and see how it goes and occasionally post some photos and thoughts about it. You guys know I am a fan of the GXR and 28 and 50mm modules but what about shooting M glass on the GXR with its own customized sensor? When I received the package and attached the module to the GXR I loved the solid feel. That is one thing about the Ricoh cameras…they are made and built TOUGH.

The lack of an AA filter on this module really makes the difference here and I am liking the files from the GXR moreso than the NEX-5n (with Leica glass). The Ricoh GXR A12 “M” Mount Module Review by Ashwin Rao. The Ricoh GXR A12 M-Mount Review – The Digital CL Reborn?

By Ashwin Rao Visit Ashwins blog HERE – His Flickr HERE - Steves GXR Review HERE Hi, friends and fellow photographers, today I am bringing to you my real world perspectives on the new Ricoh GXR A12 M-Mount module. For those of you who are not yet aware, Ricoh has been pumping out fantastic compact cameras for several decades now, and their compact line of GRD cameras stands at the forefront of compact cameras designed specifically with photographers in mind. As many of you already know, Ricoh entered the large sensor compact fray nearly 2 years ago with the introduction of the Ricoh GXR.

Ricoh took a novel design approach of building lens-sensor combos, essentially coupling lenses to a specific sensor tailored to that lenses needs. I remember someone posting about 18 months ago on the Micro Four Thirds forum how they had just bought an assortment of six manual lenses -- Minolta and Canon if I recall correctly -- for around $200. I think those days have long gone. Most decent manual lenses will now command a premium on the used market. Those people who had the good sense to keep hold of their old manual lenses will now be grinning from ear to ear, won't you Tom?

-- Calvin Well I am only grinning slightly, got in sort of before the little rush from the M mount module (anticipation is useful), but way behind the M4/3 and NEX stampede. Not suggesting that anyone buy Russian lenses unless they are brave and/or handy with their hands. Ricoh GXR with A12 Leica M Mount Module at The Phoblographer. As one of the well reviewed mirrorless cameras, the interchangeable mount system isn’t as popular as others. So does this one have what it takes to take Ricoh to the top? For clarification: I used the Leica 50mm f2 Summicron natively. With use of an adapter, I used the Leica 50mm f2 Summicron collapsible, Voigtlander 12mm f5.6, and Leica 35mm f3.5. Ricoh GXR Leica Review by The Phoblographer. Ricoh GXR Mount A12. Michael has asked me to share some initial impressions of Ricoh's new Mount A12 unit for their GXR system. What follows, then, is certainly not a review (or even a mini review) but rather a short collection of thoughts that have come to me after working with this new module for a couple of weeks so far.

This new Mount A12 – which is designed to take Leica M–mount lenses – may well be the most interesting and promising development in the Ricoh GXR system to date. In fact – and in particular – the GXR with Mount A12 may currently be, overall, one of the best and most versatile medium–sensor, compact camera options on the market for photographers who work seriously using zone focus. Rangefinder camera lenses, as a rule, feature well–marked manual focus rings and good to excellent mechanical focus ring action. Ricoh GXR with Leica M lenses. GXR / Digital Cameras.
