Eric Freitas I’ve just discovered some wax materials that I’m very excited about! Yes, that’s right, I just said I’m excited about wax….what of it? I’ve been diving more seriously into the world of casting, and I like some of the creative doors that the process opens up. Can’t Be Unseen (3 ← 17 More Images That Can’t Be Unseen Can’t Be Unseen (3) By Jeff Wysaski | Published January 31, 2012 | Full size is 460 × 308 pixels Can't Be Unseen (4) Can't Be Unseen (2) Everything but the Paper Cut: Eye-popping Ways Artists Use Paper In the year since the Museum of Art and Design reopened in its new digs on Columbus Circle, they've been delivering consistently compelling shows--from punk-rock lace to radical knitting experiments. The newest, "Slash: Paper Under the Knife", opened last weekend and runs through April 4, 2010. The focus is paper--and the way contemporary artists have used paper itself as a medium, whether by cutting, tearing, burning, or shredding. In all, the show features 50 artists and a dozen installations made just for the show, including Andreas Kocks's Paperwork #701G (in the Beginning), seen above.

How To Draw A Wave This art tutorial, kindly donated by surfing comic strip illustrator and surf artist Bob Penuelas covers how to draw a wave the Wilbur Kookmeyer way! If you're like me, then you've probably spent a lot of time in high school class daydreaming and doodling a thousand perfect cartoon waves in your notebook. It's safe to say that ninety percent of us surfers have a habit of scribbling perfect waves whenever a pencil is in our hands.

50 Eye-Popping Examples of Concept Art One of the most unique and common forms of art on the Internet these days is called concept art. Concept art is a form of illustration where the main goal is to convey a visual representation of a design, idea, and/or mood for use in movies, video games, animation, or comic books before it is put into the final product. The concept artist generates a visual design for something that doesn’t yet exist.

Ruth Sanderson's Golden Wood Studio - Welcome I am happy to share the process for creating the cover illustration of my upcoming book A CASTLE FULL OF CATS, due to be released in early 2015. Yes, it takes almost a year for a publisher to produce a book after the artwork is delivered. I’ll be doing lots of sneak previews during the year. Awesome Minimalist Disney Posters FTW Something about minimalist art just looks great on movie posters. Combine that with Disney movies and you get a whole new edge. You might think most of these posters are for some dark, avant-garde indie film, not a cute animated kid’s flick. Katsuyo Aoki: Porcelain skulls Katsuyo Aoki’s porcelain skulls make death a beautiful thing With Halloween on its way and so much death imagery everywhere, it’s refreshing to see Katsuyo Aoki’s take on ghoulishness. Her porcelain skull sculptures feature meticulous vanilla white curly patterned details, that look like they could be made of coral–or maybe icing. (Mmm?) And if you look closely, you can almost make out blissful grins.
