Panko Mozzarella Sticks!

Panko Mozzarella Sticks!
I first discovered panko bread crumbs back in 1999. Please don’t ask me how I know that; I just do. I remember vividly reading a recipe that contained panko bread crumbs, and I remember vividly that I was nursing my second baby, and I remember vividly that I was hormonal and desperate, and the next thing I knew I was ordering panko bread crumbs from some market in Chelsea that the magazine recommended. On the phone, of course, because although I had a computer at the time, I certainly wouldn’t have been cool enough to use it to order panko bread crumbs. Plus, I was nursing. Not enough hands. Panko bread crumbs, in a word, are delicious. Panko are Japanese breadcrumbs, and are lighter and flakier than regular breadcrumbs. When I set out to make a recipe with panko bread crumbs, I started in the direction of something Asian/exotic. So guess what I did? Let me back up: my family LOVES fried mozzarella sticks. Here we go: Panko Mozzarella Sticks! Grab the panko breadcrumbs. A couple of eggs…

Party Recipe: Bacon-Wrapped Potato Bites with Spicy Sour Cream Dipping Sauce Recipes from The Kitchn Okay, we're not going to win any awards for thinking up this combination, but hey — these potato bites are easy, delicious, and perfect for a sports-loving crowd, should you find yourself surrounded by one this weekend. They even remind us of sports-bar food ... like little deconstructed potato skins. (Image credit: Emma Christensen) We decided to make these after countless evenings munching on these bacon-wrapped dates, which are also very yummy, but got us thinking about other things we could wrap in bacon.

Ree Drummond - StumbleUpon Iced coffee is my life. When I wake up, often around the time party animals on the west coast are just heading home, I start each day not with a cup of freshly brewed hot java, but with a tall, blessed glass of creamy iced coffee in a glass. I’ve been an iced coffee freakazoid for years and years. To say I couldn’t live without it is an understatement. Garlic Fried Rice November 23, 2010 Garlic Fried Rice What did you do with your leftover rice? Fried rice with eggs and chicken bits and soy sauce? Well, I got bored. Sometimes it is good to go back to the basic.

Easy Holiday Appetizer Cucumber Feta Rolls [Holiday Recipe Exchange] Appetizers and Snacks, Holiday Recipes, Recipe Exchange | 40 comments I don’t know about the rest of you, but I really feel like the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season snuck up on me this year. Petite Lasagnas recipe slightly adapted from Hungry Girl (makes 12) 12 oz raw ground turkey ¼ tsp salt, divided ¼ tsp pepper Tuna & White Bean Salad Every now and again I get a pretty strong craving for canned tuna, but there are two problems with that: 1) canned tuna has gotten quite expensive and 2) All that mayo can be pretty dangerous. So, I came up with this easy little Tuna and White Bean Salad to solve both of those problems. White beans (navy or great northern) are pretty neutral in flavor and the texture goes quite well with tuna, so they’re a really great way to bulk out tuna salad for cheap.

Chipotle's Beef Barbacoa Slow Cooker Recipe Ok, so maybe it’s not exactly like Chipotle’s, but it’s dang friggin’ close. Actually I think it’s identical to Chipotle’s Barbacoa, but there will always be That One Person who disagrees. First off, this isn’t my recipe. I found this on TheKitchn’s Web site. Ingredients Skinny Mashed Potatoes Mashed potatoes are one of my favorite things to eat on Thanksgiving, but this year since I am pregnant and on a really strict low carb diet (for my diabetes) real mashed potatoes are out (bummer). I recently started researching alternatives to some of my favorite dishes because there is NO way my plate will be without a big ole pile of mash potatoes. I came across this recipe that uses cauliflower instead of potatoes.
