Is God Real? The Case from the Transcendent Laws of Logic My criminal cases are largely circumstantial in nature. I seldom have eyewitnesses who can identify the suspect directly or tell me exactly how the killer committed the crime. Instead, I have to carefully build cumulative, circumstantial cases on the foundation of many interconnected pieces of indirect evidence. Christian Apologetics: Who Needs It? I am honored and deeply humbled by the privilege of being invited to give the Stob Lectures this year. Indeed, I’m a bit embarrassed by all the fuss you’ve made. There’s a temptation to try to justify one’s selection as the Stob lecturer by giving some hopefully impressive, scholarly pair of lectures.

The “no self-defeating object” argument A fundamental tool in any mathematician’s toolkit is that of reductio ad absurdum: showing that a statement is false by assuming first that is true, and showing that this leads to a logical contradiction. A particulary pure example of reductio ad absurdum occurs when establishing the non-existence of a hypothetically overpowered object or structure , by showing that Browse Products C. H. Spurgeon (1834–1892) is one of the church’s most famous preachers and Christianity’s most prolific writers. He converted to Christianity in 1850 at a small Methodist chapel and began his own ministry immediately, preaching more than 500 sermons by the age of 20. Archaeologists Unearth Proof of Plot to Kill Prophet Jeremiah - Haaretz Israeli archaeologists have unearthed a seal impression belonging to a minister of the biblical King Zedekiah, which dates back 2,600 years, during an archeological dig in Jerusalem's ancient City of David. The finding helps corroborate the story pertaining to the biblical minister's demand to have the prophet Jeremiah killed. The seal impression, or bulla, with the name Gedalyahu ben Pashur, who served as minister to King Zedekiah (597-586 BCE) according to the Book of Jeremiah, was found completely intact just meters away from a separate seal impression of another of Zedekia's ministers, Yehukual ben Shelemyahu, which was unearthed three years ago.

Some Problems with Pragmatism Bertrand Russell, the famous British philosopher, gives some cogent criticisms of William James’s pragmatic theory of truth that amplify the critique given by W. Corduan in Reasonable Faith. Yet before we address them, we should note that there is some debate as to just what James’s theory involved.
