A friend posted an interesting data table on my Facebook wall yesterday, which was my birthday. The data listed each day of the year with a ranking for how many babies were born in the United States on each date from 1973 to 1999. Some interesting trends are evident in the data. Apparently, people like to make babies around the winter holiday season because a large proportion of babies are born in September (ours is due Sept. 24, btw). Sept. 16 was most common. The prime numbers are those that have been intersected by only two curves: the prime number itself and one. Ou comment géolocaliser les hôpitaux et, surtout, leurs équipements et utiliser intelligemment les données. Observant que les données relatives aux équipements hospitaliers sont dispersées entre plusieurs sites, j’ai décidé de les récupérer dans une base unique en y ajoutant des données de géolocalisation afin ensuite d’essayer de les exploiter. La marche à suivre est la suivante: 1. Récupérer sur la base Platines la liste des codes FINESS qui identifie les établissements sanitaires et sociaux. C’est le seul site où il est possible de les trouver facilement. 2. Vous trouverez les différents scripts ruby ici. Retrouvez l’application en plein écran. Pour la suite il s’agit de trouver aux mieux comment exploiter ces données, l’application la plus simple consiste à permettre de localiser l’équipement le plus proche de chez soi. Tehran Conference Statement on Syria On August 9, Iran hosted an emergency conference on developments in Syria. Envoys from 26 countries attended the one-day meeting including Afghanistan, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Benin, China, Cuba, Ecuador, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, Maldives, Nicaragua, Oman, Pakistan, Russia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe. The final communiqué expressed the following points. ·Serious concern over the continuation of clashes and violation of human rights in Syria and the vast losses and damages which have caused grief and numerous problems for the people of Syria, and sympathy with the families of the victims of armed clashes and terrorist acts. ·The necessity of pursuing political solutions based on national dialogue as the only way to resolve the Syrian crisis with the main objective of bringing the violence to a total end and encouraging the two sides to prepare the ground for the national dialogue.

"The Wilderness Downtown" is an interactive interpretation of Arcade Fire's song "We Used To Wait" and was built entirely with the latest open web technologies, including HTML5 video, audio, and canvas. HTML5 Canvas 3D engine renders a flocking bird simulation that reacts to the music and mouse. HTML5 audio plays music and keeps track of timecode. Sequence system controls and synchronises effects and windows to the timecode. HTML5 video plays film clips in custom sizes. Choreographed windows are triggered by the music and placed relative to screen size. Map tiles are rendered, zoomed, and rotated in a scripted 3D environment. Animated sprites are composited directly over maps and Street View. 3D sky dome is used to render Street View with scripted camera control.
