Book Art You've seen book art like this before, I'm sure. I love it! Etsy had a shop featured today with tons of prints for sale that I absolutely thought were so fun. If I could, I would buy these and cover my walls with them: As I was drooling, I realized that we could make these in like, five seconds! If you don't already have an old book to use, check out a yard sale or thrift store for a large dictionary or something like that. Use the pages in your printer like any old sheet of paper and print some silhouettes that catch your eye. I chose some nautical pictures to go in my bathroom, my current work in process. Oh, how happy they make me! I'm planning to cover the walls with different photos of that lovely, maritime nature. I really love the bold look of frame-covered walls!

Seven Striking Orange Grunge Textures In the real world the color orange is often used to gain and maintain peoples attention, whether it be in construction road signs, orange distress flags for boats, or the fake tan on your mother-in-law. This concept can also be carried over into web and graphic design. So if you're working on a striking design, why not try and incorporate one of these bold orange textures? Click on the textures below to download the high-res version or download them all in a zip file at the bottom of the post. If you've used L&T textures in commercial work or earned a profit from them in your designs, please consider making a donation to Lost & Taken. Alex Grey

Via TRIANGULATION How to Create Your First Web Page Note: If you know anything at all about HTML and CSS, don’t bother reading this, it’s a guide for the uninitiated, technophobes, luddites, computer-illiterates, anyone who is more comfortable with a pen and paper than a keyboard and mouse. If making a web page seems like brain surgery to you, then this is the article for you. What you need to know The only prior knowledge I will assume is that you’ve used a computer before, you’re familiar with using a keyboard and a word processor, and you’ve at least seen a website.
