How to use Blender for cloth simulation Thanks go out to Filippo Veniero for this Blender tutorial. You can see more of his work at ifilgood.it Anyone dabbling with CG will, sooner or later, have to work with cloth simulation: a curtain in an interior, a dress, a T-shirt on a character… When we set a mesh as cloth, Blender’s physics engine treats its vertices as if they were connected to a network of springs. The various parameters – such as material structure, material bending, spring damping – determine how much the springs can extend and contract, and at what speed. In this way we can create stiff fabrics such as leather, soft ones like silk, or elasticated textiles like rubber.

Box of Goodies I’ve realized that the only way to create realistic outdoor scenes is by adding lots and lots of nature elements. Things like trees, flowers, bushes, rocks etc. are essential in making the scene look “believable”. But I also know that creating these things by hand takes a very long time. And not everyone has time to sit down for hours on end and create tree after tree after tree.
