Literally translated, the saying goes that the Fleming is ‘born with a brick in his stomach’. It’s become a cliché, but it expresses well the tendency of the Flemish to earn a diploma, settle down and build a house big enough for family life. Renovating an existing house is an option, too, but erecting a new home is better. Preferably a detached house that’s as close as possible to where your parents live. In Mark #49, we ask ourselves; how long …

Oh Joy! I'm excited to announce the launch of the Oh Joy for Nod kids' bedding and decor collection! Inspired by Ruby and her transition to a big girl room, the collection is a limited-edition bedding and home decor line for kids. It includes baby, toddler, and kids' bedding, pillows, lamps, plush toys, rugs, and a curated collection of art to go with it all. The Sundae Best collection is inspired by Ruby's favorite food—ice cream—and how fun it would be to sleep surrounded by your favorite treat. Timber - vincenttarisien TIMBER2013Help Timber to find a manufacturer to produce the kit. Don't hesitate to share it ! A playful and customisable furniture range derived from my research on the combination of two materials — made solely from bio resin and wood. Designed to be assembled at home, each piece in the collection is entirely customisable and comes neatly packaged in a cardboard cylinder. Once the wooden frame has been assembled, a resin is poured over the mould, which sets in just a few minutes.

Less is the New More: Making the Most of Small Spaces Good Design For Living in Small ApartmentsAs people migrate to smaller spaces, good design helps a lot. This is something they figured out in Europe long ago, that if you don't have a lot of horizontal room you can go vertical. Tumidei in Italy makes some of the nicest stuff, like this unit with lots of storage under the bed. This unit just raises the floor high enough for beds to slide under. This one looks a bit clinical, but has two single beds plus a pull-out double bed in between. When you read in the New York Times that professional couples with children are moving into small one-bedroom apartments in Manhattan and sleeping in closets, perhaps this stuff could be useful. Le voyage créatif This July I met up with Annette Joseph in her amazing apartment in Italy for a little summer get-together with cooking, eating and dancing on the agenda. If you know Annette Joseph from before, then you know she knows how to throw a party and make it all look oh-so effortlessly, she is a food and lifestyle stylist after all with years of experience under the belt for magazines such as Better Homes and Gardens, and is an lifestyle and entertainment expert on the Today show. My lucky part was to be able to watch her work her magic up close and personal, enjoy heartfelt and fun conversation along the way, and play with my camera. It was such a treat to spend time in her company. It´s always so inspiring to have conversations between women, to hear their life wisdom, how they make their relationship work after many years of marriage, to listen to their life stories and to learn from their creative journey, how they began their career to where they are now.
