Chai Pancakes January 19, 2012 | Print | E-mail | Filed under chai As long as I can remember, I’ve always a loved pancakes. Well, maybe except for one summer growing up after a fateful camping trip with my family. The campground we frequented always had a big pancake breakfast on Saturday morning, which was pretty exciting…all you can eat pancakes with butter, syrup, bacon, sausage, and jam. One Saturday morning after my family and I had loaded up our plates with pancakes, we all sat down together to eat breakfast. Unfortunately, we all sat down together to eat breakfast on the same side of a rickety picnic table that had seen better days, and the picnic table toppled over, practically in slow motion…our pancakes flew through the air and landed on top of us, along with everything else that was on the table.

No-Bake Chewy Cookies and Cream Bars Oh how I love a treat that can be whipped up in about 15 minutes. My boys and their buddies couldn’t get enough of these Chewy Oreo Bars we had as an after school snack this week. Sometimes my spontaneous recipe creations turn out to be the most fun, lol! Strawberry Lemonade Cookies and *Link Party* Summer is quickly coming to an end, and I want to soak up every last bit of it. Some of you may be eagerly awaiting fall and the cooler temps, but I don't want summer to end! I can't think of anything more summery than strawberries and lemonade. Put those two flavors together and you get a crazy good cookie sandwich!! I shared these Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cookies with you a few weeks ago (SO yummy!).

Valentine's Day Monster Cookies We all have those days - the ones where nothing seems to go right and each frustration is followed by another. The days that drag on forever with no end in sight. It is equally frustrating when these inevitable days happen to a loved one, leaving me helpless to offer better advice than, “Life sucks sometimes. I’m sorry.” While I may be at a loss in offering eloquent, inspiring words, I always know I can whip up a quick batch of cookies to provide comfort at the end of a bad day. Monster cookies are a perfect choice - mixing them up is effortless - and I can customize the colors of the M&Ms to whatever the occasion might be.

The Infamous Jacques Torres Chocolate Chip Cookies Now, I have a chocolate chip cookie recipe that I swear by. I love it, I think it is incredible, and I haven’t changed my mind about that. However, as much as it pains me to say it, these chocolate chip cookies by Jacques Torres are absolutely, without a doubt, the best chocolate chip cookies that I have ever made or tasted in my entire life. I guess that’s why they call him Mr. Chocolate! These are a chocolate chip cookie of another color, that’s for sure.

Chocolate Éclairs by Pierre Hermé Recipe Making pâte à choux has always been intimidating but now that I’ve tried it once, I can’t wait to use it again. Gazing at the colorful options behind glass display cases in local pastry shops, I’m thinking, “I can’t make any of this.” Now I can proudly cross out éclairs, cream puffs, profiteroles, and Paris-Brest out of The Long List of Things I Can’t Must Make. The pastry dough is cooked twice, first on the stovetop to create a paste and then finished in the oven after piping the desired shape. Choux is French for “cabbage,” referring to the irregular shape that a round piece of pâte à choux takes. Sweet Pea's Kitchen - StumbleUpon Glazed Doughnut Muffins Have you ever found yourself choosing between a doughnut or a muffin to start your day? Well now you don’t have to choose! These glazed doughnut muffins are perfect for those of us that just can’t make up our minds in the morning! Moist muffins spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg and dipped in a delicious powdered sugar glaze. Mmmm…

Carrot Cake Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Glaze I’m not exaggerating when I write that I have been thinking about making these cinnamon rolls for five months. After posting my Sweet Potato Pecan Cinnamon Rolls last November, I started brainstorming other varieties and carrot cake immediately came to mind. I waited all of these months to make these cinnamon rolls because for some reason I associate carrot cake with Spring. Is it the bunnies? Easter? Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles I think it is safe to say that most of us have eaten our fair share of raw cookie dough. When I was a kid, my mother would purchase cookie dough balls from our school Market Day program. I think I ate more dough balls than freshly baked cookies:) However, with the safety issues of raw egg consumption, recipes have been created for us to have our raw cookie dough and eat it too. The only way to make it better is to cover it in chocolate--yum! Many recipes for cookie dough truffles call for sweetened condensed milk.

sweet saturday: one minute peanut butter cake Picture this scene: it’s 8:30 in the evening. The sky is just starting to get dark outside your living room window. You ate a delicious, healthy and veggie-filled dinner a few hours ago and now you are ready to sit down to the most recent episode of So You Think You Can Dance and dive into a decadent plate of dessert. Oh wait, you have no dessert. No chocolate, no cookies, no ice cream, no cake, no pie, not even a Jordan almond.
