Conway's Game of Life "Conway game" redirects here. For Conway's surreal number game theory, see surreal number. The Game of Life, also known simply as Life, is a cellular automaton devised by the British mathematician John Horton Conway in 1970.[1] The "game" is a zero-player game, meaning that its evolution is determined by its initial state, requiring no further input. One interacts with the Game of Life by creating an initial configuration and observing how it evolves or, for advanced players, by creating patterns with particular properties. Rules[edit]

Be warned, though. This nostalgia comes with a price. That price is your sanity. Because the games are difficult. Deus Ex: Human Revolution (2011 Adam Jensen is dying. The blinding lights of an operating theater melt away in a mechanical fever dream of pleading voices, surgical tools, and rent flesh. Memories of lost love flash between images of a broken and dissected form, while shattered limbs and failing organs — the embodiment of Jensen’s flawed humanity — are replaced with the cold perfection of carbon fiber and silicon. A body restored, a soul fractured — but what remains of the man? A corporate thrall bound to unseen masters or a transcendent being gifted with the power to change everything?

Jeu Indé Gratuit - Dwarf Fortress 09/23/2012 Been toying around with the trees. I've been working with one set of rules for growing them so far, but I'll be expanding the parameters and pictures soon (for pines, saguaros, tower caps, etc). In the meantime here are some preliminary images. Issues include grass not being dry below trees, branches looping when they shouldn't, 48x48 boundaries being too visible, crowns hitting other artificial boundaries, and so on, but it is going okay so far. Nothing is final (and it can all be changed in the raws), but the 1/4 tiles are branches heavy enough to climb (but they still have some leaves), the single lines are heavy enough to climb on but won't have leaves/fruit, the semi-colons are too light for climbing (I haven't started climbing yet), and the little pentagons are parts of the trunk that slope or taper.

Indie PC game Surviving the end of the world, in a game, usually means there’s a combat-heavy journey ahead of you across irradiated wastes. Not so in Sheltered, Unicube’s management sim. The survivors in question are a family, and they are already safe (relatively) in their underground shelter. This is a game about keeping them that way. Get That Out Of Your Mouth: Get That Out Of Your Mouth #34 Here's the scenario: the world hits "peak oil," and the supply starts to dwindle. All around the planet, gas prices go up and economies choke. From rich to poor, from the city to the country, everyone is affected by the scarcity of a resource that's as crucial as air. So who would you turn to?

Ludum Dare For this mini-LD challenge, I decided to try to create a game for the original 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). This was the first game console that I ever owned as a kid, so creating a game for it was something that I had always wanted to do. Unfortunately, to create an NES game, everything has to be written in assembly. When I was at Georgia Tech working on my computer science undergraduate degree, I did have one project where I had to write assembly code for an emulated MIPS system. The emulator was called SPIM (MIPS spelled backwards), and it looks like it is still available for download today. While writing assembly is not completely foreign to me, it definitely is not one of my favorite things to do. Cthulhu Saves The World Cthulhu Saves The World - XBOX Live Indie game. Great fun. - Endgame level taken at 43 - Damages taken against typical enemies-that-matter defense... 20% reduction from attack values displayed. This only really matters for parasitic healing (which is slightly worse) and for ITD attacks (which are slightly better). Pareto efficiency Pareto efficiency, or Pareto optimality, is a state of allocation of resources in which it is impossible to make any one individual better off without making at least one individual worse off. The term is named after Vilfredo Pareto (1848–1923), an Italian economist who used the concept in his studies of economic efficiency and income distribution.[citation needed] The concept has applications in academic fields such as economics and engineering. For example, suppose there are two consumers A & B and only one resource X. Suppose X is equal to 20.
