Closed Eye Visuals. Ganzfeld hallucinations. The cognitive science journal Cortex has just released a special issue on the neuropsychology of paranormal experiences and belief, and contains a fantastic article on hallucinations induced by the Ganzfeld procedure.

Ganzfeld hallucinations

The Ganzfeld procedure exposes the participant to ‘unstructured’ sensations usually by placing half ping-pong balls over the eyes so they can only see diffuse white light and by playing white noise through headphones. It is probably best known for its uses in parapsychology experiments, but it is also used to induce hallucinations and sensory distortions which are much more likely to occur in the absence of clearly defined sensory experiences.

The article reviews the sorts of hallucinations reported in during these experiments and discusses what electrophysiology (EEG or ‘brain wave’) studies tell us about what happens in the cortex when these perceptual distortions kick off. Some of the descriptions of hallucinations are really quite striking: Link to Cortex special issue. Culture Vaults : Resonant Frequencies and the Human Brain. One of the great revelations of 20th century science is that all existence can be broken down into simple wave functions.

Culture Vaults : Resonant Frequencies and the Human Brain

Every photon, energy emission, and elementary particle rings with its own unique wave signature. When we see a color, we are actually seeing a distinct frequency of visible light. When we hear a sound, our eardrums are actually being vibrated by subtle waves in the air molecules around us. Even the neurochemical processes of human consciousness our very thoughts ring with their own distinct wave patterns. By studying the way that waves interact with other waves, researchers have found that even low-powered oscillations can have enormous effects on standing waves, physical structures, and even the human brain.

Tesla first realized the massive potential of resonant waves in 1898 when he performed a simple experiment with an electromechanical oscillator the size of an alarm clock. "The principle cannot fail," Tesla would say. Monroe's Big Discovery The Neural Radio. Fear of DMT - The Corroboree. Thanks guys, i had a bottle of red the other night with some friends and we got into the dmt conversation.

Fear of DMT - The Corroboree

I got really excited and start rambling on about it and i got into some kind of drunken inspiration for launching myself to another dimension. I took my friends inside and got the pipe out but they started to have doubts and said maybe we should do this when we are sober. This was coming from guys that dont fear anything when they are drunk so it is as if the human mind knows that this is too powerful a substance to take lightly Anyway, I might just use this thread as a trip report to compare my experiences with other fellow travellers. It all started with me, home alone after uni with a nice pouch of dmt. It was the most insane thing that has ever happened to me, it was like my mind was iterating the image of my room over and over again on some kind of crazy loop. I was so happy because i figured dmt out and it was thanks to my meditation training. So, what have i got from dmt? Crystal DMT + MAOI - what dose? Www.universal-tao.com/dark_room/DarkRoom.pdf.
