Bright Ideas: Neon Accessories It is a privilege for Crate and Barrel to present this mid-century icon, designed in 1966 by the modern visionary Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin, founder of the North Carolina furnishings company bearing his name and still family-owned to this day. Prized by collectors and showcased in museums, the Milo chair represents the exceptional 50-year collaboration and close friendship these two modern pioneers began in 1953 with a handful of sketches and a handshake. Made today to the original specifications at the original Thayer Coggin workshop, this timeless classic is genuinely one of the most comfortable chairs you will ever experience. 15 Cool Alcove Beds Home design DIY Kids Weddings Fashion and Style FOOD Cool stuff 15 Cool Alcove Beds Alcove beds are naturally fun for kids.

Jamie is an art director for DHome/DWeddings and Larry is a senior designer for Neiman Marcus. They are both art directors and spend much of their days orchestrating amazing photoshoots. Their impeccable taste and blessed sample sale opportunities have turned their somewhat modest city townhome into a luxurious style haven. Each detail of their home is so interesting: from the alligator skull, to the collection of keys from Jamie’s father mixed with the heap of wine corks, and an armless baby doll. Each one has a story.

DIY Furniture Makeovers I'm obsessed with making-over old, worn out furniture. It's amazing how almost any old piece can be totally transformed with new paint, hardware and a little imagination! Here are three examples from Ladies Home Journal...click here to read the entire article. Out-dated side table with stone top transformed into a bright and cheerful accent piece!

Getting Ready for Tonight Our 1958 upholstered range is taken from an original design from, well, 1958. We have updated it with a beautiful two tone cotton fabric in a selection of six fresh and lively colours. The high quality, 'Sloane' fabric from Designer's Guild is a soft but robust, crêpe weave with a textured, natural finish and there is a twenty five year guarantee on each frame. To give the cushion a cosy, sumptuous feel, without losing its shape, we have used a foam core, wrapped in a layer of soft, duck feather. The sofas are handcrafted in Beeston, Nottinghamshire, by upholsterers who personally sign each one.

Everyday Objects Stash Money, Secrets, Drugs, IDs Yiting Cheng just finished up a master's degree in design, but she could already teach James Bond a thing or two about stashing valuables. For her thesis project, Cheng designed a series of eight objects that ingeniously store secrets--from passwords to money to drugs to IDs. And you can see all of them in this nicely shot video (our favorite is the secrete drawer, hidden in the edge of a table, which is only accessible when attach a magnetic pull): According to Cheng: This project is about concealing valuables, secrets, bad habits and personal information in our workplaces. Here, hidden spaces/messages were created within 8 general objects such as wood boards, lamps and disposable coffee cups.

Most of us would just toss a jacket in the back of the car in the winter months. But here in Vermont we need a little more.

Spools Pokémon Cameo Though my knowledge of video games and Japanese anime is practically nonexistent, I find myself endlessly amused by Pokémon & Fashion - an online destination where adorable Pokémon characters and highbrow fashion editorials and campaigns magically collide.
