9 Different Desoldering Techniques - All This first technique is the most destructive and should only be used when you do not plan on keeping the board. I use this method to salvage a lot of components at once. I have a drawer that I keep scrap PCBs and every once and a while, I'll salvage all the parts from them. Proto Shield for Arduino This is a design for an open-source prototyping shield for Arduino NG/Diecimila. It has tons of cool features, to make prototyping on your Arduino easy. Compatible with NG, Diecimila, Duemilanove and any Arduino-clone in the 'classic' shape and pinout.Reset button up topICSP headerLots of GND and +5V rails.DIP prototyping area makes it easy to add more chips.SOIC prototyping area above USB jack for up to 14-pin SOIC chip, narrow medium or wide package.Use 'mini' or 'medium' breadboard. Two 3mm LEDs with matching resistors.Extra 6mm button

Creating Makerspaces in Schools Two weekends ago, I attended EdCamp NYC at The School at Columbia, an independent school on Manhattan's Upper West Side. One of the things I love about attending edcamps is that the day is always unpredictable because you don't know what will be discussed or who will be leading conversations until that morning. What ensued was an inspiring day focused on tinkering, exploration and innovation. OLED panel could switch between sunroof and light source A sample of the OLED roof panel material, that can switch between being transparent and emitting light Image Gallery (2 images) What if your car had roof panels that let you see the sky during the day, but that lit the interior of the vehicle at night?

Breadboard Sanguino Okay, so you want a Sanguino but Zach's Sanguino is too expensive ;-> Or too red ;-> Or you just have to have it NOW ;-> And you just used up the last of your solder so a strip board is out. What are you to do … bread board Sanguino. Of course, nothing in life is free. While the bread board Sanguino is easy and quick, it also is very limited. You'll need a +5V regulated power source. You can either put one together yourself or use something like the [Solarbotics bread board power supply].

MicroPython pyboard [v1.0] ID: 2390 - $44.95 The pyboard is a compact and powerful electronics development board that runs MicroPython. It connects to your PC over USB, giving you a USB flash drive to save your Python scripts, and a serial Python prompt (a REPL) for instant programming. Works with Windows, Mac and Linux.MicroUSB cable not included, but you can pick one up from the store! Introduction of EVA FILM - XINOLOGY As architectural design becomes more and more sophisticated, glass is playing significant role in building construction and decoration. It leads to a diversified demand in laminated glass, not only in safety and security purposes, but also aesthetics, design, art and view control etc. One of the most popular bonding interlayer films, nowadays, used for glass lamination is PVB. Turn Your Arduino Into an ISP There are a few instances in which it is neccesary to program microcontrollers without a bootloader. For example, if have run out of storage on a chip you can get an additional 2KB when you program without a bootloader. Another example, the one I will show you how to do, is to program chips that have no serial capabilities and therefore cannot use a bootloader. The ATtiny85 is one of these chips. To program the ATtiny85 using the Arduino ISP you must first add ATtiny85 support to the Arduino environment: * Download * Unzip the folder * Copy the folder to the Arduino IDE's Hardware folder * Reopen the Arduino IDE, you should see the ATtiny85 in the Tools >> Board menu Now connect your Arduino ISP to the ATtiny85 like the diagram below.

Water Powered Flashlight Batteries are too mainstream, let's make Water Powered ones! The DIY flashlight never runs out of batteries, water is all around us and will never run out. One of today's causes of pollution is the improper disposal of batteries containing heavy metals such as lead and mercury. The answer, using water as electrolyte! Imagine, running wall clocks for 6-12 months with water, you'll never need to leave your house just to buy batteries and there's no need to recharge them.

Audio FX Mini Sound Board - WAV/OGG Trigger 16MB Flash ID: 2341 - $19.95 Would you like to add audio/sound effects to your next project, without an Arduino+Shield? Or maybe you don't even know how to use microcontrollers, you just want to make a sound play whenever you press a button. What about something that has to be very small and portable? You are probably feeling a little frustrated: it's been very hard to find a simple, low cost audio effects trigger that is easy to use and does not require any programming
