Bits Of Everything: Wall Picture Collage I have been wanting to hang something on the wall in my kitchen ever since we moved in. Between Emily and I, we finally dreamed up this Wall Picture Collage after looking at lots of other people’s photo collages- and I love the way it turned out. Here are all the things that I bought. (all found at walmart) This entire project was under $20. *pictures you want to use (I had free prints from Costco) * 2 20×30 foam core boards (I got two black ones $2.88 each) *poster hanger thingies ($2.44) *foam brushes ($.97) *double sided tape ($3) *mod podge (I already had some) This shows you how thick the foam core board is.. First I drew out a plan.. Then I cut some computer paper first, and made sure it would work before I cut up my pictures. Then I went to work cutting my 4×6 pictures into 4 inch squares. I then laid them all out on the floor in the order that I wanted them, and then taped them down with double sided tape. Then I took it in the kitchen and painted mod podge all over it. and straight on.
How to Make a Three-Dimensional Wall Hanging Ready to craft? This project is so easy, anyone can do it. Before you start making excuses, let me tell you, I’d never painted before. Need some ideas? Use different kinds of sticks. Maybe leave off the bird and use butterflies. This project should take two days. Day 1, Step 1 in creating your own three-dimensional wall art: Paint your canvases with some acrylic paint. Step 2: Leave the canvases to dry and start preparing your foliage. Step 3: If you plan to use an additional color on your canvases (I mixed some white and light grey to make the moon) you can go ahead and add that. See the final assembly tips on day two after the paint dries on Page Two! About Erica Mueller Erica Mueller has written 22 posts in this blog. Electrified Fox Lamp Tutorial and Giveaway! My gosh, where have I been lately? What month is it? June? We moved from Minnesota to Maryland last summer? Yes. So...here we are in Ellicott City. I had to start the kids in one school in September, and then a few weeks later when we finally closed on a house, had to move them to another school. Then just before Thanksgiving, I lost a friend to cancer. All of this is not to say that I stopped making stuff. So I have a lot of stuff in the works, but here's what I've been dabbling with for the past few weeks: Gold dimensional paint. First, there was a jellyfish. We visited the National Aquarium here in Baltimore, and I fell in love with the moon jellies. And then there was a golden longhorn. Again with the blobby paint to highlight the strange characteristics of this animal. I hear they raise ostriches out in West Texas. With semi-grotesquely realistic birdy legs. I also got on a preppy kick and made this striped whale. And an elephant with gold tusks. Of course.
DIY: Stencil Pillow January 16th, 2012 Have you tried fabric markers yet? I finally got around to it, and they work great. Paired with a stencil you can use them to stencil your favorite quote on a tea towel, apron, t-shirt, table runner, pillow cover, place mat, cloth napkin, old pair of blue jeans—anything you can think of! {*style:Supplies: *}fabric item you want to stencil on some cardboard a pencil a letter stencil (I have this one. ) a fabric marker (I loved my black Sharpie fabric marker!) After choosing your quote, wrap your fabric over the cardboard to keep the marker from bleeding through and to keep the fabric stretched out smooth. Use a pencil to stencil your quote onto the fabric. Once you’ve penciled everything in, go at it with your fabric marker! The Sharpie fabric marker packaging didn’t say anything about heat setting the ink, but I will probably press my fabric before I wash it, just to be safe.
