Baptisée, « De la e-shoppeuse à la f-shoppeuse », cette deuxième édition s’est attachée à réaliser un focus sur le comportement des e-shoppeuses sur les réseaux sociaux et les smartphones. L’infographie suivante nous offre une synthèse des principaux résultats. On y apprend, entre autres, qu’une majorité des e-choppeuses (52%) utilisent Facebook pour optimiser leur consommation. A History Of Social Commerce: Important Dates [Infographic] Today more brands than ever are engaging fans and selling products on Facebook. Social commerce is booming. But how did we get to this point? A fun infographic from Useful Social Media outlines a history of social commerce, starting with the first virtual gifts sold on Facebook back in February 2007 and ending with some interesting facts about social commerce today. Some of the highlights of ‘Social Commerce Important Dates’ include the fact that in December 2008, Dell claimed $1 million USD in revenue via Twitter sales alerts; in July 2009, $34 was spent on Facebook’s first retail transaction via 1800-FLOWERS; and in August of 2010 Groupon became the fastest growing company of all time and Mark Zuckerberg said, “If I had to guess, social commerce is next to blow up.”

Looks like Zuckerberg was right. When you take a look at all the important dates in social commerce over the past few years you can’t ignore the fact that the industry is on the rise. It’s a useful snapshot of the fast-evolving world of f-commerce, and similar to that outlined in our f-commerce FAQ. It differentiates two basic forms of f-commerce – f-commerce where transactions take place on Facebook itself and f-commerce where transactions take place elsewhere (in-store, on external e-commerce sites). This is a useful distinction.

In the context of Facebook, the term ‘f-commerce’ is new, and an accepted industry-wide definition has yet to emerge. Nominally f-commerce describes the range of activities in which Facebook is used to assist in the buying and selling of products and services. Like the term social commerce, f-commerce is used to describe a range of different activities, all related to buying and selling on Facebook.
