Have you been preparing for the holiday in any way? I’m officially in love with the colour green after decorating these. I don’t know why I haven’t made St. Paddy’s Day cookies before – the colours are so fun and vibrant, and the designs (well, besides one of them I’ll tell you about in a second), easy to create. If you’re looking for a fun and fairly easy project to celebrate the day, these cookies double as good luck charms and sweet treats.

Continuing on with my last post where I shared 50+ Cookie Decorating Secrets, I’ve got a few more “secrets” to share with you today. So, a few minutes after I had covered a top hat cookie with black icing, I realized that a leprechaun’s hat is usually green. It worked! I decided to keep one hat black anyways for a little bit of variety. This chocolate dough is yummy, but I still think I can make it a smidgen better, so will continue experimenting until I’ve got it just right. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. All the cuteness of a cake pop, all the fun of an easy appetizer, and it's all wrapped up in bacon. These little bacon and goat cheese pops were inspired by these very popular cake pops, Elizabeth's wonderful bacon-wrapped potato bites, and these goat cheese balls from Neiman-Marcus.

(We love the apple-serving idea; we incorporated it into this recipe, in fact.) These are not for the dieting or those of a non-bacon-loving persuasion. In spite of the addition of lower-fat cream cheese and fresh herbs, these are very rich. Try serving these at your next spring soirée; they're pretty enough for a nice party, but they have that magic ingredient even the most fussy eater will love: BACON! Goat Cheese Balls with Herbs, Pecans, & Baconmakes 16-20 6 slices bacon4 ounces goat cheese4 ounces cream cheese (not whipped)2 tablespoons chopped thyme or basil, dividedCracked black pepper1/4 cup pecansApple slices, to serve Cut each piece of bacon in half. Jamaican Banana Fritters - ThatsSoYummy.com.

There’s a thing in my house that when you have ripe ol bananas either you make banana bread or banana fritters. These delicious tasty treats can be eaten morning, noon, or night, as a snack or as dessert. These fritters are so easy to make and will satisfy any craving you may have. So if you have a few of these bananas lying around your hose… don’t toss them, put them to GREAT use! Enjoy! Peel and mash the ripe bananas. Beat egg, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Next, blend egg mixture with mashed bananas. Make sure it is all incorporated. Then sift flour and baking powder into the banana/egg mixture.

Mix it all together. If the batter seems to be too thick add a little milk… I added about 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of milk. Add oil to a frying pan and place on medium high heat. Drop spoonfuls of the banana fritter batter into the hot oiled frying pan. Flip when you see the edges starting to get brown and golden. Lastly, combine cinnamon and sugar together to create your cinnamon sugar. Ingredients. 100 Very Cool Facts About The Human Body. The Brain The human brain is the most complex and least understood part of the human anatomy. There may be a lot we don’t know, but here are a few interesting facts that we’ve got covered. Nerve impulses to and from the brain travel as fast as 170 miles per hour. Ever wonder how you can react so fast to things around you or why that stubbed toe hurts right away?

It’s due to the super-speedy movement of nerve impulses from your brain to the rest of your body and vice versa, bringing reactions at the speed of a high powered luxury sports car.The brain operates on the same amount of power as 10-watt light bulb. The cartoon image of a light bulb over your head when a great thought occurs isn’t too far off the mark. Hair and Nails While they’re not a living part of your body, most people spend a good amount of time caring for their hair and nails. Facial hair grows faster than any other hair on the body.

Internal Organs The largest internal organ is the small intestine. Bodily Functions Senses. Lady Behind the Curtain » Pull Apart Doughnut. I’ve tried lots of brownie recipes: Boxes, scratch, frosted, plain, nuts, chips, fudge … Each of them has something to like, but depending on my mood I might want a change of pace. Not any more. My wife found this recipe, and it’s perfect. I’m done looking. This is the brownie recipe that I’ll use from now on.

Ingredients 1½ cups sugar ¾ cup flour ¾ cup cocoa powder (see note below) 3 eggs ¾ cup butter, melted ½ teaspoon salt (if using unsalted butter) ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (see note below) Directions A NOTE ON CHOCOLATE: You’ll notice the list of ingredients is very short. Peel the edges and let cool for a few minutes before slicing. Like this recipe? Pierogi Recipe. October 2, 2010 My mom is obsessed with keeping a stocked freezer, but I guess I don’t really take after her, because my freezer tends to be relatively empty, aside from random containers of stock/ramen broth, frozen dumplings and pierogi.

I admit, I store buy frozen chinese dumplings and pierogi for those times that I just don’t feel like cooking. I tell myself it’s because of ease and convenience, but really, I just love the taste of frozen pockets filled with deliciousness. Pierogi are fast, tasty, and ideal for when I let myself get too hungry and become a crazy unthinking monster. (This happens more often than you would believe). I’ve always been a frozen pierogi buyer, but now I think I’m going to have to go homemade forever. It’s Oktoberfest right now and that means two things: beer and sausages. I found an old Gourmet magazine pierogi recipe on epicurious.com and for my first pierogi making experience, it was great. Oreo Cookies-Recipe Oreo-Oreo Recipes-Cheese Cupcakes-Oreo Cheesecakes. Posted by Grace Massa Langlois on Wednesday, 21st July 2010 I have yet to meet a person who doesn’t like Oreo cookies or Cream Cheesecake Cupcakes. Who could resist cream-filled chocolate sandwich cookies?

Not Me! Especially the double-stuffed Oreo cookie, it’s one of the best cookies for dunking into a cold glass of milk. I went out yesterday to do my weekly shop, came home, and before I was able to bring in the first grocery bag Matt was hunting for the cookies and cream ice cream. Much to his disappointment I forget to put it on the list and came home without it. One of Matt’s favourite desserts of all time is cherry cheesecake and I thought to myself why not Oreo Cookies and Cream Cheesecakes, that should satisfy his craving. Plus these cheesecakes are super easy to prepare, everything comes together in one bowl and there’s no crushing chocolate wafers with a rolling pin, then melting butter, baking the crust first and then baking a second time when filled.

Make-Ahead Muffin Melts. This is another recipe from my mother’s recipe collection. It’s a make-ahead concoction meant to be spread on English muffins and broiled. And it’s just…it’s just… It’s divine. And here’s what you need. Hard boiled eggs, shredded cheddar, fried bacon, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and Worcestershire. Sorry about the excessive bokeh. Start by peeling all the eggs… Then give ‘em a rough chop. Throw the bacon on a cutting board, trying not to eat it all in the process… Then chop it up into bits…trying not to eat it all in the process. Throw the eggs in a bowl… Then throw in the shredded cheddar. I’ve been grating cheese in my food processor lately and I have to say, I’ve never been happier in my life.

Then comes the bacon and a cup of mayo. Now hear this! A good, heaping tablespoon of Dijon. Do not skip this ingredient or your life will spiral downward into a series of unfortunate events. I’m not even kidding. Next comes some garlic powder. You think I’m kidding, but I’m not. *Burp* Sorry. Snickerdoodle Muffins. Snickerdoodle Muffins I have been obsessed with Pinterest lately!
