Pizza Swirl Bread

Pizza Swirl Bread
I have good news and bad news. The good news is… I made you bread. It tastes like pizza. It’s swirled with piles of grated provolone and spicy pepperoni and a nice little mixture of Italian seasoning [...that came out of a tube]. Yeah. We all do it. The bad news is that it disappeared. Like… all of it. At best I could dig the foil out of the trash for you that enveloped this loaf for a full 13 minutes before complete domination took over. See, bread if my favorite thing to make. I want to dive headfirst into this pepperoni roll on steroids and doggy paddle through every cheesy swirl. Pizza Swirl Bread [adapted from martha stewart.com] makes one loaf 4 tablespoons butter 1/3 cup milk 1/4 cup warm water 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast 1 teaspoon sugar 1 large egg 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 garlic cloves, minced 6 ounces provolone cheese, freshly grated 4 ounces grated parmesan cheese 20-30 slices pepperoni, or however much you would like 1/3 cup tomato sauce, or more if desired 1.

Pizza Braid A pizza braid is very kid-friendly, easy on the wallet and extremely simple to make. My aunt and cousin first introduced me to them and I’ve been hooked ever since. The possibilities are endless of the varieties you could make (check out the Apple Dessert Braid!), but the recipe below is for a very basic hamburger and pepperoni braid. You could make your own dough, but I prefer the shortcut of using Rhodes rise and bake dough.

LaSaGnA TiMpAnO I went to see tUnE-yArDs on Monday night with some friends, and as always we wanted to cook a meal that somehow related to the show we were heading to. Sometimes this is hard to do, but other times it seems to come naturally. Finding culinary inspiration in Merrill's lyrics seemed like it would be tough, but my sister knew what she wanted to make without hesitation.

Millet Salad with Meyer Lemon Vinaigrette & The Whole Kitchen In the blur of the last two weeks of dog sadness and new-hound hope, I almost forgot that this was a food blog. You’ve all been so kind with your words of sympathy and now excitement for our soon-to-be hound, Miracle, you’ve made this transition in our lives easier to bear with your outpouring of support. We’re counting down to Sunday when Miracle joins the family. I expect that I shall splash a few more dog photos and stories up here as we get to know the little lady. But I promise, there will be food too.

The Infamous Jacques Torres Chocolate Chip Cookies Now, I have a chocolate chip cookie recipe that I swear by. I love it, I think it is incredible, and I haven’t changed my mind about that. However, as much as it pains me to say it, these chocolate chip cookies by Jacques Torres are absolutely, without a doubt, the best chocolate chip cookies that I have ever made or tasted in my entire life. I guess that’s why they call him Mr.

White Chicken Pizza January 19, 2011 White Chicken Pizza In this house I know that anytime I make a pizza, it’s guaranteed that it will get eaten. Even if I screw it up, the mantra seems to be that there is no such thing as a bad pie. Parmesan Roasted Potatoes Ok fine. I’m officially ready to make the transition to fall. And I thought, what better way to do it than with my all time favorite Parmesan Roasted Potatoes! These are like candy. 100% addictive. Once you stop, you just can’t stop. Roy G. Biv Smoothies I’ve had a few requests over the last few weeks for some smoothie recipes because I let it slip that Betsy and I generally just have a big smoothie for breakfast everyday. Turns out our daily smoothie recipe is a mix between yellow, red, and indigo, but that’ll make more sense to you later. Smoothies can be so varied I really struggled for awhile on how to present a wide spectrum of recipes in one post. That was, of course, until I saw a guy riding a bike last weekend with a rainbow sticker on his backpack. When I saw the rainbow I thought, now those would be some awesome smoothies!
