Easy Brazilian Cheese Bread (Pão de Queijo) Recipe

After posting the moqueca recipe, several of you asked if I had a recipe for Pão de Queijo, or Brazilian cheese bread, sort of like a chewy cheese puff made with tapioca flour. As a matter of fact, I do. My friend Bill gave me this recipe years ago, a favorite from his Brazilian wife Silvia. I’ve made it several times, each time with different cheeses. There are several ways to make Pão de Queijo.

The concentrated fruit flavors of a moscato or sweet sherry are uniquely delicious — they transcend syrupy stickiness into a lush bloom of ripe fruit and fragrant aromas that linger on the palate. But I don't often want a glass of dessert wine and a dessert — too much! Cheesy Artichoke Dip by Jean Carper Recipe. GALAXY nACHOS. In honor of Kris' moving back home to the good ol US of A, last week we made us some Galaxy Nachos for the last time. Kris found this "recipe" in a " cookbook " by one of his favorite online persons ; Chris Omstad , who draws daily cartoon about a retarded Otter. A cookbook was the obvious next step for his career: "This is a cookbook for people who are fed up with glossy, high-quality efforts by professional chefs who aren't forced to shop at lousy chain grocery stores and cook everything in a ruined Teflon pan. " Would you be shocked if I told you this was Kris' first cookbook? No?

Hummus Recipe

Although you’ve probably heard of the other vegetarian restaurant in town, I worked up the hill at the Cabbagetown Café. While we weren’t as famous, the food was quite good. (I say we were better, but I’m somewhat biased). I guess the public agreed since by the time we opened the door each day for lunch and dinner, there was already a line down the sidewalk of hungry locals and regulars waiting to get in. We cooked everything from scratch from produce brought to us by farmers in the area, directly, before it was trendy or cool to pat ourselves on that back and write an article about it.

We just did it. Farmers would come in lugging crates of dirty root vegetables, crispy radishes, and slender green pea pods, and we’d make what we could with them. We didn’t have any machines, except for a blender, and used our hands to stir and chop. Hummus Makes 6 to 8 servings 1. 2. 3.
