Garlicky Baked Fries

Garlicky Baked Fries
I’m never going to make garlic potato fries any other way. These garlic fries, win hands down as the best garlic french fries I’ve ever made. Plus they are baked – so I won’t feel too guilty if I make it every time I’m craving for some potato comfort. When I read that there is garlic infused oil involved, my heart skipped a beat (in a good way, not the way oil would otherwise treat your heart). I got down to making them immediately. I used extra virgin olive oil instead of vegetable oil because I just love the aroma that garlic and olive oil combine to impart. crispy golden baked fries These garlic fries are incredibly simple to make and are so full of flavour. crunchy potato skin Garlic Fries Adapted from: Lottie + Doof Ingredients: 8 garlic cloves, minced or grated 6 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 3 russet potatoes (about 8oz each), each cut into 12 wedges 3 tbsp cornstarch/cornflour 1 1/2 tsp coarse sea salt 1 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper ½ tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper

Skewered Honey-Balsamic Chicken You will need: 5 chicken thighs, skinless, boneless, Marinade: Detox Carrot Slaw Carrol Tahini Slaw There are two ways I love to “detox” from the holidays as the New Year rolls around. The first is by fully hydrating my body and drinking plenty of nutrient-dense beverages like fresh juice and coconut water. Super easy, homemade bread This is it! This is the only white bread recipe you’ll ever need. It’s that good. I can’t take the credit though, I got this recipe from a fellow member on a website named www.backyardchickens.com her name is Gumpsgirl and I say a thank you ever time I make this bread. Here we go. first put 2 cup almost hot water in a bowl, add 4 teaspoons yeast (I like rapid rise, I’m not patient)

broccoli parmesan fritters Last week, it was pointed out to me that among the 750 recipes in the archives, there is but a single recipe that utilizes broccoli. Just one! (It’s a great one, though.) For comparison, there are 11 recipes that use cauliflower and 26 with mushrooms. Restaurant Style Orange Chicken Alright you guys, seriously, this orange chicken tastes exactly like the best orange chicken you’ve ever had at any restaurant. I was very, very, very skeptical at first because I’ve never fried meat before and I was afraid it would turn out terribly. Kramer was adamant about having me make orange chicken that would remind me him Chinese take-out, though, and I couldn’t let him down! It was perfectly crispy and crunchy and the sauce was right on point; sweet and tangy and with a little bit of heat. I honestly can’t emphasize how good this orange chicken is.

eatingclub vancouver: Philippine Pork "BBQ" [js]The last four months have just been unseasonably cold in Vancouver. It started snowing the last weekend of November and it seems like this cold weather system has never left us. The whole month of December felt like a wash: all I remember was trucking in and out of snow in very wet clothes. January and February: very, very cold, sometimes going into negative temperatures overnight. Maple ♥ Spice: Pan Fried Chive Gnocchi with Sun-Dried Tomato Coulis Oh my this was good, and it would make a great Valentine's meal, especially with some homemade Garlic Bread ;-) Or any day of the week as it's been kid approved too - my son loved this and he's never liked store bought gnocchi, so yay for homemade! I do love gnocchi and you can buy vegan ready made gnocchi in the shops, at least I was able to in London when we lived there and here in Ireland Super-Value's own label gnocchi does just happen to be vegan. But I've always wanted to make my own and was inspired here from watching Catherine Fulvio make this Spinach Gnocchi on her fab cooking show awhile back. Not only did she make it look so easy but I loved the idea of adding chopped spinach to the dough and I really loved the way she just cut them into rustic diagonal shapes as opposed to the traditional forked orbs you usually see. It might just be me, but as much as I love gnocchi that look and shape always made me think of bugs and it put me off slightly! 1 Tbsp water

bethany actually» Blog Archive » Make your own vanilla extract Wouldn’t you be happy to get this as a Christmas gift? I read Catherine Newman’s post about making homemade vanilla as Christmas gifts and thought, Brilliant! I’m gonna do that this year! So we did. I bought a dozen 4-ounce clear Boston round glass bottles and 20 organic Tahitian vanilla beans (I actually received 23 beans). Troy went to BevMo and picked up a couple of liters of vodka. Gnocchi Mac &Cheese Ahhhh mac and cheese. Those mere words stir up feelings of comfort...home....the food you loved as a kid. If you asked a 100 people what their favorite comfort food was, I'm guessing close to half would say mac and cheese. I'm sure meatloaf and mashed potatoes are right up there too. Why is that the combination of cheese and pasta can make our mouths water? I'm all about trying different kinds of mac and cheese recipes and this one was no exception.

Unbelievably Easy Roast Beef I present to you all a Christmas roast. It’s the perfect holiday meal. This roast beef is rich and flavorful, while still very buttery and tender without actually using any butter! Believe it, friends, for I speak the truth. This roast beef is perfection. Braised Beef Chuck Roast This is one of the easiest, best tasting beef meals you will ever make (and your house will smell divine). By wrapping the roast in a foil packet you create a true braise: slowly (this cooks for 4 hours) cooking a piece of tougher meat, completely surrounded by a small amount of liquid, turning the meat into a delicious, tender dream. This is best made with a bone-in roast, though I had to use boneless this time. Serve it with lots of mashed potatoes to soak up the yummy sauce.

Chickpea and date tagine Posted on January 25, 2012 by Jessica in International, main dishes, Recipes. I love Morrocan, Middle Eastern, and Indian food. This recipe falls in the North African category of Morrocan, and the spices are warming, and give an added sense to the words comfort food, that helps to warm the soul. This is one of those dishes, with no heat, unlike some spicier dishes. Big Red Kitchen: White Castle-like Sliders: A How To Long before Himself and children, my roommate Sara and I would make the trek to White Castle’s for some sliders or Gut Busters as we liked to call them. Piping hot and smelling so good we could down two or three before our brain knew what was happening and made us slow down. Kinda like Krispie Kreme Hot and Nows. Those days are far away and so is the nearest White Castle, therefore I have resorted to making my own. I have tried the frozen kind but I prefer fresh.

Skinny Mashed Potatoes Mashed potatoes are one of my favorite things to eat on Thanksgiving, but this year since I am pregnant and on a really strict low carb diet (for my diabetes) real mashed potatoes are out (bummer). I recently started researching alternatives to some of my favorite dishes because there is NO way my plate will be without a big ole pile of mash potatoes. I came across this recipe that uses cauliflower instead of potatoes. Hmmm not a big cauliflower fan so I wasn't sure.
