Eight Types of Hecklers and the Comedians Who Shut Them Up
In the 2007 documentary Heckler, Joe Rogan says that “the number one thing about hecklers is 100% of them are douchebags." A stand-up comedian's act depends on the audience reaction by nature, but when someone attempts to derail the performer's work, well, that's something a douchebag would do. Still, heckling creates exciting moments of discomfort for the audience, and hecklers have instigated some great moments in comedy (Bryson Turner's comeback) as well as some terrible moments (Michael Richards incident). Whether the outcome is funny, awkward, or awful, the eternal battle between heckler and stand-up is always fun to watch. Here are eight kinds of hecklers, and fifteen different ways of dealing with them. 1. Joe Rogan embraces hecklers like few other comedians, and his confrontation with this strange young woman is another drop in the bucket. Instead of making a joke out of his heckler, George Carlin instead opts to unleash his fury. 2. Rule #1: Always say yes. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.

Funnier sequel to Funny Pix: just kidding - StumbleUpon Here is a series of funny pictures I had gathered just for our readers. Actually, these wouldn't have been here, as I had other plans for the weekend. I'd been invited by a new radio station to participate in a live chat on birth control methods, but I pulled out at the last minute. 10 Phrases You Won’t Learn in Spanish Class I studied Spanish for years and taught it for several as well. The problem with formal education of a foreign language is you never get to learn the good stuff. Now that I am no longer on any education-related payroll, I can finally impart my knowledge of malas palabras en Castellano, Castellano being the type of Spanish spoken in Argentina. Remember, these are just for Argentina, many of these won’t have the same or any meaning in other Spanish speaking countries. Here are my top 10, use them carefully and have fun! Andáte a la mierdaLiteral translation: ”Walk yourself to the shit”.

TWO LITTLE BOYS from Joe Burton Two little boys, ages 8 and 10, are excessively mischievous. They are always getting into trouble and their parents know if any mischief occurs in their town, the two boys are probably involved. The boys' mother heard that a preacher in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her boys The preacher agreed, but he asked to see them individually. The mother sent the 8 year old in the morning, with the older boy to see the preacher in the afternoon. The preacher, a huge man with a deep booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly, "Do you know where God is, son?"

Louis CK's Thoughts About Smoking Pot &124; Remy Carreiro Is there a funnier comedian than Louis CK right now? I am a huge fan of the late Mitch Hedberg, but outside of a few legends, CK is owning the comedy scene right now. He has the wit of George Carlin, the balls of Bill Hicks, and a voice all his own.

Rashad Alakbarov Paints with Shadows and Light Artist Rashad Alakbarov from Azerbaijan uses suspended translucent objects and other found materials to create light and shadow paintings on walls. The best part is that you can easily create something similar at home – all you need is one or two lamps and some items from your desk. The stunning light painting below, made with an array of colored airplanes has found its way to exhibitions like the Fly to Baku at De Pury Gallery in London. Rashad adds, “Above the cloud with its shadow is the star with its light. Above all things reverence thyself.” Dude, you're gay by John Roy Stand-up Comedy and Video on 1. 19 Comedians Confronting Hecklers (NSFW VIDEO) No one heckles quite like hecklers at a comedy show. You wouldn't hear someone yell their opinions at a solo jazz performer or a ballerina, but when an audience sees a funny person standing on stage with a mic, there's often one or two people who demand to have their voices (usually drunk voices) heard. The recent Daniel Tosh incident reminds us that the way a comedian responds to a heckler can become an issue outside of the club. There's also a great documentary about hecklers on Netflix that highlights the many ways hecklers can be dealt with, and a wealth of video evidence on YouTube. Below you'll see 19 examples of how comedians can handle a heckler, including brutal takedowns, full-on breakdowns and some ridiculously witty retorts. From Mitch Hedberg's gentle chat to Bill Hicks' expletive-filled rant, there's more than one way to handle a heckler -- some more effective than others.
