If I’m telling the truth, I really enjoy cooking with beer much more than I like drinking it. I do like to drink it on occasion, but it’s not always my beverage of choice. However, when it comes to cooking with it? Best flavor ever. Basically, I love replacing water with alcohol. And now… a peek into what a mess my kitchen appliances really are. You don’t even want to see my stand mixer. Look at that bun. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that this is the best chicken I have ever made in the crockpot.
People… I live with a man who seriously eats chicken at least five days a week for lunch and dinner. So, I’m convinced it’s a combination of the perfect marriage between beer, spices (I freakishly love onion powder and smoked paprika together… give it a whirl) and sauce (Bone Suckin‘ is the best) that makes this so amazing. Or is that just me? Crockpot BBQ Beer Chicken serves about 8-10 1 tablespoon onion powder 1/2 teaspoon salt. Scalloped Hasselback Potatoes. “Scalloped” is an attractive word, isn’t it? When I hear it I think of several things: first, there’s scallops, as in the seafood—totally delicious.
Then there’s the scalloped shape that can live on the edge of a pair of shorts or on the collar of a woman’s blouse—always pretty and dainty. And of course scalloped potatoes also comes to mind, which carries my imagination to a land of crispy potato skins drenched in a sea of cheese and cream. I can think of no better place to exist, actually. So when I came across TK member Shelbi Keith’s recipe for Scalloped Hasselback Potatoes, I knew we were going to become fast friends.
I couldn’t have been more correct. The first players up are: a few Russet potatoes (I’m sure other varieties will work equally as well), Parmigiano-Reggiano and butter. Start by scrubbing your potatoes good and clean. Then, using a sharp knife, make slices across the potato, being sure to stop before you reach its bottom. Cut up your butter. Transfer them to your plate. Eclair Dessert | Chocolate Pudding Graham Cracker Dessert.

Baked Zucchini Sticks and Sweet Onion Dip: that bloomin’ zucchini! Today, class, it being late July and all, we’re going to examine our zucchini facts: •Zucchini is always at the end of any A-to-Z food list; •Zucchini and fruitcake are the undeserving targets of many a joke; •The zucchini plant literally grows like a weed, making it absolutely ubiquitous in vegetable gardens across America; •And for that reason, enterprising cooks have discovered ways to turn it into muffins, and cake, and pancakes, and… Baked Zucchini Sticks. You know that onion appetizer that came into bloom back in the late ’80s? Outback Steakhouse claims it invented the “Bloomin’ Onion” back in 1988, and it wasn’t long before quasi-fast food restaurants adopted it as the hottest appetizer since artichoke dip baked in a bread bowl. These zucchini sticks, with their melty-soft interior and crisp crust, are reminiscent of those onions – and equally addictive, especially when served with their special onion-mustard dip.

This is what I came up with-next time I might only use half of the box of Red Velvet Cake and save the other half for cake pops. :) I know it doesn't look like the bottom part is done, but it is-I used a fudge-like brownie mix and added even more chocolate chips to make it gooey.
I used box Red Velvet Cake and Brownie Mix. Instructions: Preheat Oven to 350 and grease a 13x9 pan(I actually used a larger lasagna pan). May 10, 2011 | Print | E-mail | Filed under bread, nutella There are some days that I just lose my appetite. It might be because of my mood, or that nothing sounds good, or that I’m in a food rut again and need to spice things up a bit. When my appetite comes back though, what I’m inevitably craving is some sort of comfort food. Yesterday happened to be one of those days, and by the end of the day all I could think about was a warm cinnamon roll fresh from the oven.
Fortunately, over the weekend I whipped up a batch of my go-to recipe…only this time, I halved the recipe so that I’d only get 3 pans of rolls instead of 6. And, rather than the usual cinnamon rolls, I made this version with nutella. As a new convert, I can say that I think pretty much anything tastes better with nutella, and these cinnamon rolls were no exception. Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie Challenge from America's Test Kitchen for Boston Bloggers. America's Test Kitchen is famous for its "Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie" recipe. The Test Kitchen has challenged Boston Bloggers (and since I'm new to the Boston scene...) to test their recipe. This was indeed a challenge for me. In the past, I have really struggled with making great chocolate chip cookies - I know, how embarrassing.

Funny how those posts never make it to the blog... I don't know what my problem is. But these cookies, these cookies turned out beautifully. The secret? I know Mike will be thrilled when he gets home - thrilled and shocked. A couple of weeks ago I was emailed by a reader to try Green Bean Fries, like the ones at T.G.I. Friday’s. So I went to the source and tried them.
They were good, but mine might have been sitting around for a while as they were a little mushy. So I got home, plugged in the deep fryer and started to experiment. The first two tries were alright but not amazing. Then I figured it out and created some of the tastiest Green Bean Fries around. I served the green bean fries with a side of ranch dressing. Green Bean Fries 1 pound green beans1 cup flour1 egg1/2 cup milk2 cups panko bread crumbs2 tsp garlic powder2 tsp Hungarian paprika1 tsp onion powderKosher saltpepper Rinse and then trim off the ends of the green beans by snapping the ends off. "Honest Movie Titles: Oscars 2011" by Susanna Wolff and Tom Philip. Tequila Sunrise. Alicia’s Awesome Crab Rangoon. I invented this recipe many years ago… when I was in high school. I loved eating crab rangoon at Asian restaurants, and of course there were none of those in my hometown of under 1,000. Like a lot of recipes I come up with, this one was invented out of necessity. And it was awesome . Thus, I christened it: Alicia’s Awesome Crab Rangoon. I’ve only tweaked it a little here and there, and it just gets better every time. Since the crab in the filling is already cooked, I’ve even made the filling and served it as crab dip.
You can also make these ahead of time and freeze them uncooked. Here’s the details… And here’s the recipe… Alicia’s Awesome Crab Rangoon 1 12 oz package imitation crab meat (leg or flake style), chopped 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/4 teaspoon paprika 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice 2 green onions, chopped wonton wrappers Mix together all ingredients except wontons. Makes about 30 rangoon, or 2 cups of filling. Tequila-Soaked Watermelon Wedges. Root Beer Float Cupcakes. Awhile back I did one of the darnedest things. You may recall. I made this root beer float. And I’m still trying to decide if it was the best decision of my life, or the catalyst to having nightmares when I envision warm, sandy beaches and waves crashing along the shore.
Along with bikinis. Root beer floats and bikinis don’t go together. Let me rephrase that. Even though root beer has never really tickled my fancy, I’ve developed something that some may call an… addiction. See that frosting up there? I’ll say it again in because I can’t really believe it either. Root beer frosting. Root. I don’t want to lead you astray, so I’m going to tell you a little secret. We’re friends right? The root beer flavor doesn’t come from just root beer. Then I tried some more. It was then that I caved. Contrary to what Mr.
