Nutella Cinnamon Rolls May 10, 2011 | Print | E-mail | Filed under bread, nutella There are some days that I just lose my appetite. It might be because of my mood, or that nothing sounds good, or that I’m in a food rut again and need to spice things up a bit. When my appetite comes back though, what I’m inevitably craving is some sort of comfort food. Yesterday happened to be one of those days, and by the end of the day all I could think about was a warm cinnamon roll fresh from the oven. Fortunately, over the weekend I whipped up a batch of my go-to recipe…only this time, I halved the recipe so that I’d only get 3 pans of rolls instead of 6.

Strawberry & Chocolate Nachos I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: sometimes the best creations are the ones you don’t set out to create! This might be my new favorite thing. It’s the perfect easy, throw-together, family style dessert for summer. I did a local tv segment this week and made my Baked Cinnamon Chips and Fruit Salsa.

Dumplings I'm actually laughing at myself! What have I got into? Trying to make dumplings?? Well, I have seen my late grandmother make them a long time ago. I can remember the ingredients but not the measurements! Baked Egg Boat recipe Breakfast is my favorite meal. I like to drink iced coffee and watch the cream climb its way down the chunky ice cubes in a dazy before the caffeine hits. I like to order bacon with whatever I’m eating. I like eating potatoes with ketchup. I like eggs over easy, and fluffy scrambled eggs.

Japanese Strawberry Shortcake, Recipe Japanese Strawberry Shortcake The Japanese do some amazing things with cake and pastry. They have embraced many Western desserts and made them uniquely their own in many ways. I love a good Japanese sponge cake—moist, light and airy, and not overly sweet. A while back I received an email from Eliane, an LFM reader, who asked me to share a Japanese sponge cake recipe. At the time, I didn’t have a favorite recipe, but told her that I would work on it. Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie Challenge from America's Test Kitchen for Boston Bloggers America's Test Kitchen is famous for its "Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie" recipe. The Test Kitchen has challenged Boston Bloggers (and since I'm new to the Boston scene...) to test their recipe. This was indeed a challenge for me. In the past, I have really struggled with making great chocolate chip cookies - I know, how embarrassing. But true.

How to Make a Cake with Zebra Stripes on the Inside! & MyCakeSchool Blog Hi everyone! Happy Friday! Okay, it is just about 15 minutes until Saturday here, but I’m still going to call this a Friday blog -:0) — Let’s celebrate by making a zebra cake! In my last video tutorial, I demonstrated how to decorate a cake with zebra stripes–a very fun look for your safari, fashion or just plain funky themed cakes! Well, today I’ll show you how to continue the theme to the inside of the cake.

How to Make Marshmallow Fondant - Clockwork Lemon This time I decided to make it with those mini fruit flavored marshmallows. I had to sort them by colour first. I figured they would add a little bit of flavor to the fondant so I wouldn't have to add much flavoring oil. I use gel colours to dye my fondant but regular food colouring will work too. You won't be able to get really dark colours without making your fondant sticky, but for lighter colours you can just even it out with more icing sugar. Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos Recipe One of the best grilled appetizers is bacon wrapped jalapeno peppers. This recipe is so easy to make and it only consist of 3 ingredients; fresh jalapenos peppers, cream cheese, and bacon. The jalapeno peppers are first sliced in half then seeded, stuffed with cream cheese, wrapped with bacon and grilled. You should consider wearing gloves when slicing and seeding the jalapenos because they can burn your hands. With the play offs coming up and the super bowl near this is a perfect recipe for game day. Enjoy.

Rum and Caramel Banana Cream Trifle Rum and Caramel Banana Cream Trifle ~ Rum, banana cream filling, toasted pecans and coconut, salted caramel buttercream, chocolate sauce-are you feeling fat and happy yet? Well, I certainly was after this concoction that pretty much combines some of my favorite flavors. Rum and Caramel Banana Cream Trifle Green Bean Fries A couple of weeks ago I was emailed by a reader to try Green Bean Fries, like the ones at T.G.I. Friday’s. So I went to the source and tried them. They were good, but mine might have been sitting around for a while as they were a little mushy. So I got home, plugged in the deep fryer and started to experiment.

Watermelon Lime Sorbet Slices A sweet and tangy watermelon lime sorbet is a great way to cool off in the summer. As a bonus, this recipe is frozen back in the watermelon rind and cut off into slices. It’s hot. The type of heat where when you step outside the door and your skin is wet before the door swings shut behind you. Millionaire's Shortbread Since one half of the blue-eyed baking squad is currently blogging from waaaay across the pond in London, we figured we'd bake you lovely duckies a British treat. Shortbread. Millionaire's shortbread (ooooh aaaah). Don't get too excited.

Rainbow Cake in a Jar I’ve always had a penchant for sunshine in a jar. Doesn’t the very phrase itself, “sunshine in a jar,” roll off your tongue and fill your mouth with magic? While I’ve never yet found myself a sunshine in a jar, I think we may have just concocted it in our kitchen tonight.
