Delicious Meliscious - a cooking blog by Melissa: Cheesecake Stuffed Strawberries

Not being a fan of chocolate covered strawberries, I was happy to find these CHEESECAKE stuffed strawberries on The Novice Chef. You only need a few ingredients to put these together and they turn out to be quite impressive. Try them - you won't be disappointed! Ingredients:2 quarts of fresh Strawberries1 box Jello No Bake Cheesecake (I used this box mix and it came with the graham cracker crumbs. This was good, but next time I think I'd try making my own filling - just to compare.)Crushed Graham CrackersMilk Chocolate for drizzling (I also used white chocolate because I had some) Directions:Wash the berries and hollow out the centers.

Cook the Book: Cheesy Herbed Popovers [Photograph: Caroline Russock] Long before I felt comfortable baking bread at home, popovers were a part of my "fancy dinner for friends" repertoire. They were quick and easy, but also held the same magical appeal as a homemade, freshly baked yeasted loaf—at least for my college-aged buddies. I loved baking them not only for the oohs and ahhs, but also because I enjoyed watching the dramatic rise over the rim of the muffin tin that they baked in. Nowadays, I am far from intimidated when it comes to baking a loaf of bread, yeast and all, and my baking projects are a little more complicated. But I still occasionally bake up a batch of popovers to accompany dinner.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip It’s time for a little confession. I realize this may get me shunned (especially in my hometown of Pittsburgh!), but….I don’t like football. I don’t like to watch it, I never liked playing football with my friends, I don’t even like playing catch with a football.

girl meets life. - StumbleUpon I don’t say this very often. But this is one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten. Remember how I made dense, fudgy brownies by using a boxed chocolate cake mix? Well, let’s just say that I haven’t been able to stop imagining doing the same with a yellow cake mix ever since. I thought, if this method can get me to actually love chocolate, how insanely good would a cake version be?? So, chocolate-lovers, this isn’t entirely for you.

Baked Eggs in Bread Bowls This was our breakfast Sunday morning. Aren’t they cute? They were very, very good. It’s the whole egg and the toast combo all together in one nice package. These are so easy to make and wouldn’t they be splendid on a brunch buffet table?

Grown Up S’mores The man or woman behind the S’more is nothing short of a genius. Seriously, who would have thought to combine a graham cracker, a Hershey bar and some marshmallows? Whomever they were, they knocked it out of the sweet treat park. Springy Flower Pot Desserts: A Blast From My Past Back on the golf course, I used to have a traditional back-to-school party for my friends and me every year. Because I apparently had nothing better to do with my time and focus, I’d have Cranes invitations printed, would dress in my finest floral dress or suit, and welcome 15-30 girls into my parents’ house, where we’d all toast one another with sparkling grape juice and feast on chicken salad with dill and baked brie and things like that. And so what if most of us have long since replaced the grape juice with the hard stuff…and so what if few of us look as good in our floral suits today as we did back then. But at least we don’t have perms anymore! I spit on 1986. Anyway, for the party after my sophomore year, I made these delightfully fun little flower pot desserts.

Apple Pies & Jo In the Kitchen - StumbleUpon I know, I’ve made a few pies lately. But see how these are different? Look at how adorable these are! I mean, come on. wednes-diy UPDATE: This post originally ran on March 23 2011, but with summer winding down we wanted to bring it back up for some late summer inspiration! a fellow fp girl sent this to me a couple weeks back and i’ve been thinking about it ever since! i can think of a million reasons why these would be awesome… as apartment décor, as outdoor party décor, and – wouldn’t they be the best thing EVER for camping in general or at a festival? just let them sit in the sun all day, and they’ll last all night!

How To Make Brown Sugar Buttercream Frosting This was my first time making any kind of buttercream frosting, and it was ridiculously easy. And it was Oh My God good. We’re thinking of making another batch and just eating it as a dip with fresh fruit. Super simple and super yummy. Ingredients Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles I’ve never liked chocolate chip cookies. Go ahead and throw tomatoes at me if you’d like, but I don’t like ’em. They’re just a plain old cookie, after all, with a few studs of chocolate chips in them.
