Chocolate Cupcakes with Flaming Strawberries

Chocolate Cupcakes with Flaming Strawberries
Call me easily amused, but these little torch-topped cupcakes delight me. Besides being a cute novelty item for a party, I think they would add a little drama to the end of a romantic meal. I've been looking for something different to serve for Valentine's dessert, and this is definitely different. The strawberries are hollowed out and filled with a bit of liquor, then ignited with a match. For the cake portion, I chose a One Bowl Chocolate Cupcake recipe because 1. it's quick 2. it is easy, and 3. it fits my prerequisite for a light ending on date night. I should say, a light ending provided you don't eat too many. The cakes are just sweet enough, and have a light, fluffy crumb - the perfect vehicle for rich chocolate buttercream. Notes for flaming strawberries:Any alcohol below 80 proof will not ignite well. Shaina made a margarita version of this on Babble Food. Nutella Mug Cake I have been experimenting with different mug cakes every since I heard about them about a year ago. None of them have been winners. They were either too chewy, too dry, or not sweet enough. Say it with Cake - {Super Epic Rainbow Cake} Click here to buy a print! Two cakes in one week. I might have a bit of a problem. But... I dunno for sure. Anyway, I made this cake for a good friend. Ice Cream Cone Teepee Cupcakes Recipe For me, Thanksgiving season was always the best time for craft-making when we were kids! From the trace-your-hand turkey drawings, to construction paper teepees, to thankful trees and more. Thanksgiving was definitely the time to get your craft on! But I always thought it was even more fun to get crafty with food. So for your Thanksgiving treats this year, check out these adorable Ice Cream Cone Teepees!!! Baked Chicken Nuggets Chunks of all white meat chicken breasts coated in breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese then baked until golden. An easy chicken recipe your whole family will love. What can be more kid friendly than chicken nuggets, even the pickiest kids like them. Serve them with ketchup, bbq sauce or whatever you like to dip your nuggets into. Adults can serve them over your favorite salad for a satisfying lunch. Orange Crunch Cake The restaurant, The Bubble Room (warning if you click on the link: get ready for some very festive music!) on Captiva Island in Florida is known for it’s outrageousness and it looks like it’s on steroids, rainbow colored steroids. All throughout The Bubble Room there’s tons of memorabilia plastered on the walls and twinkling Christmas lights hanging everywhere. The servers are known as “Bubble Scouts,” are dressed in crazy khaki uniforms. Out of all of the desserts offered at The Bubble Room, the Orange Crunch Cake is what customers rave and drool over.

Pepperoni Pizza Monkey Bread How do you make bread even better? You stuff it with pepperoni and cheese. Then, you bake it in a bundt pan that allows you to pull off little chunks and dip them in pizza sauce. This is the perfect thing to bring to a party (and I did, where it disappeared quickly!)

Rainbow Cake in a Jar I’ve always had a penchant for sunshine in a jar. Doesn’t the very phrase itself, “sunshine in a jar,” roll off your tongue and fill your mouth with magic? While I’ve never yet found myself a sunshine in a jar, I think we may have just concocted it in our kitchen tonight. In this simple recipe, a basic white cake is turned into a slew of bright colors, baked to perfection, then topped with a creamy white frosting. Cake Pops Recipe - Mrs. Wifestine Palmer (2) Now, preheat your oven & prepare the cake as directed. Cook in a 13x9 inch pan. (3) Let the cake cool...I give it an hour. (4) Crumble the cake into a large mixing bowl. Add 1/2 the container of frosting (works best if you add small spoonfuls kind of spread out) and mix well. I stir it by hand, but you could use a mixer.

Tiny Tarts I love giving thoughtful homemade gifts to friends and family. I especially love it when the gift is fun to make and frugal to buy. So when I discovered the delicious and super cute world of goodies in a jar, I decided to put a lid on it and bake up a batch of pie in a jar. I’ve written about jarred gifts before in 8 Homemade Gifts in a Jar — so check it out if you’re less into pastry and more into mixes in a jar. Pie in a jar is just that — it’s a small single serving of fruit pie made and baked in a tiny mason jar. These pies are frugal to make, awesome to gift, tasty to serve, and fun to sell at bake sales where there’s more than enough standard cakes and tarts to go around.

Nutella lava cookies Wednesday, June 1, 2011 I love lava cakes. For a while now I’ve had this idea playing in my mind to create lava cookies. I tried making nutella lava cookies before, but they didn’t come out exactly as I’d hoped, so I wanted to attempt it again. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip It’s time for a little confession. I realize this may get me shunned (especially in my hometown of Pittsburgh!)

Martha Stewart's Cookies and Cream Cheesecakes Recipe Posted by Grace Massa Langlois on Wednesday, 21st July 2010 I have yet to meet a person who doesn’t like Oreo cookies or Cream Cheesecake Cupcakes. Who could resist cream-filled chocolate sandwich cookies? Not Me! Especially the double-stuffed Oreo cookie, it’s one of the best cookies for dunking into a cold glass of milk. I went out yesterday to do my weekly shop, came home, and before I was able to bring in the first grocery bag Matt was hunting for the cookies and cream ice cream.

Baby Gender Reveal Cupcakes People ask the ultrasound tech to write down the gender of the baby, seal it in an envelope and then give the envelope to their local baker. The baker then makes a cake dyed either pink or blue inside and everyone gets a surprise when the couple cuts into the cake at the gender reveal party. Well, Betty Crocker made it way easy to do the whole gender reveal party in cupcake form with their Fun Da Middle cupcakes. With these Gender Reveal Cupcakes, all your friends and family can share in the fun by biting into the cupcakes simultaneously to reveal your big news.
