Creamy Garlic Alfredo Sauce {My Go-To Dinner Saver!}

Creamy Garlic Alfredo Sauce {My Go-To Dinner Saver!}
I am not (not!) exaggerating when I say this quick, creamy garlic alfredo sauce has changed how I view non-dinner nights. You know. Those nights when dinner just ain’t happening. Too many things going on. Too lazy (who, me??). The problem is, on nights like that, I just can’t handle the thought of dinner approaching and knowing I’m going to have to scrounge up something my kids will eat but I’ll probably find gag-worthy. Enter this sauce. We’ve made this no less than 10 times in the last month, and I have never, and I mean never, seen my kids gobble up anything so quickly. Embarrassingly, I have to admit, this sauce is even on the menu this week. Creamy Garlic Alfredo Sauce Note: I've only ever used 1% milk in this sauce and it works great for our tastes. Ingredients Directions In a medium pot or skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Printed from Mel's Kitchen Cafe (www.melskitchencafe.com) Recipe Source: adapted from Sweet Pea Chef

PERFECT Chocolate Chip Cookies! Okay, everyone… I’ve been schooled. I’ve learned a lesson in the how-to of the chocolately, ooey, gooey, deliciousness of making the perfect, and I mean PERFECT chocolate chip cookie. I used to own a cookie business, which worked out so well considering I ate most of the inventory, and over the years I have made it my mission to find the best chocolate chip cookie evah! You know the kind, the chewy, melt-in-your-mouth, sweet, but not too sweet, dunkable, munchable cookie.

Springfield News-Leader When you get home from a long day at the office or have a day full of tasks at home, pasta is a great dinner solution. It’s quick, easy and can be very nutritious. My father, who does not like pasta, absolutely loved my Cajun pasta. It’s made with andouille sausage, green peppers and has a slightly creamy, slightly spicy tomato sauce (very slightly because a lot of people don’t like much spice).

Bite-Sized Cherry & Strawberry "Pop Tarts" Sometimes it's the little things. Like being able to swing your legs out of bed and slide your feet into fuzzy slippers to shield you from the chill on the floor. Like shuffling half-asleep and blurry-eyed into the kitchen and having the sweet scent of freshly brewed coffee to welcome you. Like pouring that first cup of elixir, stirring in a splosh of milk and sandy sprinkling of brown sugar and then lifting it waiting lips and drinking in your first sip of morning magic. Let me go back a few months. We're talking to the end of last Spring or so. Pepperoni Pizza Muffins Recipe When I’m online looking for dinner inspiration, I often search for recipes that take something my family loves and make it into something new. Since pizza is one of my family’s favorite treat, I try to find new ways to incorporate it into our menu – kinda like I did with the Fried Pizza Bites. When I stumbled onto a recipe from the Noble Pig, I knew I had to try it out on my family! They absolutely loved it! The recipe was simple, only required a few ingredients and didn’t take long at all to prepare!

Popsicles! Not to sound full of myself, but I’m pretty sure this is the be all, end all of popsicle roundups. There’s a little something for everyone: the foodies, the purists, the ones who prefer frozen yogurt, the ones who prefer a little alcohol, everyone. Tweny-five options to be exact. The post I did last summer on the cold guys was one of DC’s most viewed ever, so I thought you’d all be up for another round – was I right? Click on the photo to be taken to the recipe. Do you ever try a new food and fall so in love with it that it is always on your mind, but you just don't make it? Then a few years later, you finally give in and make it and you wonder why on earth you didn't make it sooner? Spaghetti and Meatball Pot Pie - StumbleUpon Remember those meatballs I made for a “special idea” on Friday? Here is that idea, Spaghetti and Meatball Pot Pie. I took the concept and figured if pizza was a good pot pie, then spaghetti and meat balls would be too. This isn't as much a recipe as it is a process.

Mini Chocolate Bar Mug Brownie All this talk of uses for leftover Halloween candy — I never quite got it. Getting rid of mini chocolate bars was never a problem around here; our best use for leftover candy has always been eating it. Although. Those wee bars are good for some things — deep fried mini Mars bars, for example. Sometimes it’s handy having chocolate bars in miniature. Another opportunity presented itself today: a gooey chocolate mug brownie, into which I stirred a couple chopped up mini bars: a Snickers and an Oh!

Go ahead, take a shot of salad dressing. I got my first taste of this salad dressing when a dear friend brought it over with a meal she had made for my crew right after Nola was born. From the moment the heavenly concoction hit my lips, I wanted to drink it right out of it’s re-purposed glass bottle. Since asking begging her for the recipe, I’ve probably made it weekly.

Italian Grilled Cheese Who doesn’t love a good grilled cheese? And, I know it’s totally Ameeeerican to make the classic: American cheese, mayonnaise and bread.
