Trail Mix Balls Recipe I made these little trail mix balls for my new yoga students yesterday. Why yes, I use food to get people to like me, why do you ask? I can’t help these things…it’s just the way I am. Which reminds me, I need to bake Adam’s new neighbors a batch of cookies so they won’t mind when we blast Mad Men on surround sound Sunday night. Speaking of Mad Men!!!!!! Isn’t it fab? You know what else is classy? Use your leftover quinoa plus chocolate chips, coconut, sunflower seeds, oats and dried cherries in these yummy little balls that perfect to bring to work, school or yoga. I love the little pop that the quinoa adds, as well as the chocolate chip-cherry combo. My students loved them…I loved them…and Adam will love them when he actually gets to try one of ‘em. They taste like birdseed….in the best way possible. Happy Easter weekend! Chocolate Chip Quinoa Trail Mix Balls makes about 14 bite-sized balls Print this recipe! Our sweet Elijah is 2 ½ weeks old and growing like a weed. He’s strong and healthy, and my heart is filled with gratitude that he could be part of our family. While the joys of this phase are numerous, so are the challenges. The honeymoon period has come to an end, and we are now figuring out how to juggle the needs of an active toddler and a very hungry boy. It’s in times like these that I become acutely aware of my weakness and am so appreciative of friends and family members who have surrounded us with support. Not much (if any) of what I’m cooking right now would be considered “gourmet,” but simple recipes like these Overnight Oats are helping provide nourishing fuel when it is most needed. Nutritionally, this meal can’t be beat. Ingredients For the overnight oats: 1/2 cup rolled oats (not quick cooking) 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt 2/3 cup milk 1 tablespoon chia seeds Variation #1 – Pumpkin Peanut Butter Variation #2 – Strawberry Banana Instructions

No-Cook Healthy Breakfast Recipes A little low-fat dairy and some vitamin-rich fruit and you've just started your day right, nutritionally speaking. Recipe: Breakfast Parfait Funfetti Chewy Granola Bars For the first time in years, I am in the midst of a petty, awkward issue with someone. I’ve always been nice to this someone, even gone out of my way to be nice to this someone. But let’s just say that it’s doubtful we’ll be holding hands and singing Kumbaya, or frolicking in a meadow, or promising one another future bridesmaid status, anytime soon. Some people are petty. Some people will like you and some people will not. I’ve never enjoyed feeling disliked. However, I do not believe we lack the capacity to disregard others’ opinions. When you realize these bars are extraordinarily chewy, and resort to using a fork in order to eat one, you will entirely ignore any strange looks. You won’t even notice a cherubic child asking for a bar, because you’ll be too occupied with the desire to hoard them in a secret, undisclosed location. Once the pan has been whittled down to the last piece, you’ll feel like a squirrel looking at the last acorn in existence. Funfetti Chewy Granola Bars

Mom's Beef Stroganoff There are many variations of Beef Stroganoff recipes out there and chances are your favorite recipe is the one you grew up eating it as a child. Some like it with or without mushrooms, peas, wine, tomato sauce, etc. This is the recipe I grew up eating (lightened up a bit). Now, I don't usually make recipes with canned soup, but I've always enjoyed this as a kid, so I thought I would share Mom's recipe. Growing up we ate this over egg noodles but to lower the points, why not serve this over spaghetti squash? Christmas Popcorn Mix: SRC and The Yummy Life This is my third month participating in Secret Recipe Club and I got the fantastic blog The Yummy Life for my assignment. I’m not exaggerating about the blog being fantastic! Monica has a lovely blog, it’s very easy to find whatever you are searching for: recipes, gifts and household/decorating tips. Evidently her son ‘T-Man’ is the web designer. After reading a little bit about Monica, I could tell that she has a great sense of humor and enjoys life along with the Rams and the Cards. Typically you hear from all the SRC participants that it was so hard to pick a recipe. I know, I know it’s not even Halloween yet. The Green Popcorn and Pretzel mix was originally for St. As most of you know, since I first started participating in SRC, the Baby boy has been involved. Did you notice the Baby boy has white chocolate on his fingers? I followed her recipe almost to a “T” (other than adding red). The only other thing I did different was cook my popcorn in my Whirly Pop and omit the dye.
