On weekends, my usual breakfast of overnight oats or a smoothie turns into an all-time favorite: French toast. I fully condone having a treat once in a while, which is where my daily vitamins come into play. Find Your Perfect Concealer Shade With all the various colors and textures out there, picking the right concealer can be daunting. After all, no one wants the reverse-raccoon look. You may as well hang a sign around your neck that says, “I’M WEARING CONCEALER!” Different skin concerns call for different textures and colors. You can either pick a color close to your natural skin tone or a color-correcting concealer that balances out discoloration. When choosing concealer to match your skin tone, start with half a shade lighter than your foundation. If your main concern is dark circles, lean toward the yellow/warm family (test opacity against the blue veins inside your wrist). Like using a green primer for redness or rosacea, we can use color theory to our advantage with concealers. To neutralize purplish dark circles, choose a yellow or orange-yellow-based concealer. When it comes to texture, opt for a creamy formula (concealer stick or pot) on blemishes and dark spots. Finally, remember: concealer isn’t a magic wand.

Roast Tomato & Basil Soup Everywhere I look lately I see tomato soup recipes and photo’s. This might be the reason why I was so amped to make it last week, and why my husband was so surprised to find out that I’d never made or eaten tomato soup before. I think it’s the fact that in our high school Home Economics class, the teacher always said you can’t make tomato soup in certain pots, I think it was Aluminium, because the acid in the tomatoes react with the Aluminium and this gives the soup a metallic taste. The thought of that petrified me and I was always too scared to make it. Meanwhile, we only had cast-iron and stainless steel pots and pans at home so I had no reason to really be scared of attempting this soup. I was also nervous that my soup would taste like Marinara sauce or ketchup…I mean I love both, but I don’t want to dig into a whole bowl of it. The end result was a soup with a bit of sweetness, saltiness and just the right amount of acidity. Serves 6-8

Xanga 2.0 is Here! The next month or two of work on Xanga 2.0 is going to be busy, so I wanted to share with everyone a roadmap of how we’re thinking about things! We’re dividing the work on this project into four basic phases. Phase 1. Data migration As described here, we’ve imported over every account that we have on Xanga over to the new system so that anyone who could sign into Xanga can still sign into Xanga 2.0. (Try it here!) Finally and most important of all, we’ve imported over 2 million blogs from the old system. * We’ve archived the blogs of the hundreds of thousands of blogs where the user has logged in in the past 5 years and has at least two subscribers. * We did an additional set of archives for 200k users who had logged in the past year and had at least 10 blogs. * We’ve also archived the blogs of every single user that’s ever been premium at any point in the past… And of course, a lot of you guys archived your own blogs using the old Xanga archive generator.
