@Firesphere: Not that I don't believe you, but do you have a source for that?

Top 10 Ways Your Brain Is Sabotaging You (and How to Beat It)

@inverts: I did, it was an article on a Dutch website. I'm searching for an English source. It was testet with CAT scans etcetera, the male brain showed indeed no activity when asked to "shut your eyes and calm down, think of as less as possible" Where the female brain kept being active. *Searches on* A funny side-fact on this: "Female" gays, seem to never be able to "shutdown" where as "male" lesbians were able to completely stop thinking.

Sorry, I am unable to find the article I got this information from. If I find it again, I'll let it know offcourse. @Firesphere: The article suggests from that information, that those with a "masculine" mindset (for lack of a better term) can shut their brains down; "feminine" brains always have at least one task running then? Top 10 Creative Ways to Store Your Stuff.

I live in a smallish condo, so I love these kinds of creative hacks.

Top 10 Creative Ways to Store Your Stuff

Two of my favorite and easy hacks: 1. Hung my Guitar Hero controllers off the side of a movie rack with some thin steel wire. Just make a loop big enough to slide the headstock through, and then fasten the loop to the side of the rack. When you're done with the guitar, slide the headstock UP through the loop and then let it back down so the wire grabs onto the tuner-nubs on the face of the headstock. The Books That Changed Your Lives. I have a feeling that many of these are favourite books rather than life-changing.

The Books That Changed Your Lives

Certainly I love "The Hitch-hikers Guide ... ", "Ender" and "Dune" but I don't think they have changed my life. Jared Diamond's book is very interesting but hardly life-changing. In my opinion "2001: A Space Odyssey" had a huge effect on the way people perceive the benefits of science, undermining the positive attitude created by the Apollo program. "1984" had the biggest effect on me, changing my view of government, communication and words. I have read but cannot recall much of "Zen ... " but you have inspired me to pick it up again and the two Dawkins books are waiting on my "to be read" pile. The Best Ways to Keep Stress and Anxiety at Bay. I used to stress about everything.

The Best Ways to Keep Stress and Anxiety at Bay

I was real bad about it. Now I don't stress at all, mostly because I got very ill for a couple years and stress is on the top five list of things that trigger my disorder. So I don't stress over things - I've already done something very hard and got through it okay. I can get through everything else because it just doesn't measure up. If I do encounter a stressful situation, I decide if there's anything I can/should do about it, and if not, I stop worrying.
