Le VOMA, premier musée mondial intégralement virtuel, a ouvert ses portes avec des oeuvres d’Orsay, du MoMA et du Whitney – Club Innovation & Culture CLIC France. La pandémie du coronavirus a incité les musées et les galeries à repenser la manière dont les œuvres d’art et les artistes peuvent être présentés en ligne à un public plus large.
Le samedi 5 septembre 2020, le Musée d’art virtuel en ligne (VOMA) est devenu « le premier musée virtuel entièrement interactif au monde » selon les mots de son créateur. Pour son ouverture, le VOMA présente 2 expositions virtuelles thématiques, accessibles gratuitement. Imaginé par Lee Cavaliere, expert du monde muséal et construit par l’artiste Stuart Semple, VOMA a choisi de démarrer son existence en « accrochant » des œuvres de certaines des institutions les plus prestigieuses du monde, notamment le musée d’Orsay, le Whitney Museum of American Art, le Museum of Modern Art, New York et l’Art Institute de Chicago.
Ceux qui entrent dans le VOMA peuvent aller où bon leur semble, même en quittant complètement le bâtiment et en se promenant dans le parc du musée. Deux premières expositions virtuelles . . . Over time, the top floor loggia became an exhibition of the dynastic collection of ancient sculpture, artwork and artifacts.
