NSTA Freebies for Science Teachers Graphite: Digital Resources Site Added: Dec 6, 2013 Graphite is a free online portal to help preK-12 educators find, use, and share the best digital apps, games, and websites for their students. Created by Common Sense Media with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the service contains objective ratings of apps and other digital learning resources from professional reviewers, along with reviews from dozens of “Graphite Educators,” teachers who are hand-picked by Common Sense Media. Graphite provides unbiased reviews of the learning potential of apps developed for a variety of platforms.

Synapse for Kinect SYNAPSE for Kinect Update: There’s some newer Kinect hardware out there, “Kinect for Windows”. This hardware is slightly different, and doesn’t work with Synapse. American Field Guide The American Field Guide site has been retired from pbs.org and is no longer available Produced in 2001 by Oregon Public Broadcasting, American Field Guide was an early experiment in online video for PBS. A unique local-national partnership, AFG presented a curated collection of over 1400 outdoors and recreation videos, produced by nearly 30 local stations around the country. Many of the programs and videos featured on AFG are still available through local station websites.

STEM electrical circuits assessment task CIRCUIT - a closed path that electric current flows through from a power source. Electrons always move in one direction from the power source back to ground, the point where electrons leave or enter back into the circuit.
