Stereo Animated 3D Illusions Luciano Passuello made this awesome discovery! I was always a big fan of stereo animated gifs that let you see images in 3D, partially because I never had succes seeing stereograms with hidden messages. These are easy to observe, and the effect is extraordinary! And unless it wants to break faith with its social function, art must show the world as changeable, and help to change it." -Ernst Fischer America is no longer a country run by the interests of the human being, it is solely run by the interests of the corporation, a legal justification to allow psychopathic individuals to exploit the world.
Color Psychology by David Johnson Like death and taxes, there is no escaping color. It is ubiquitous. Yet what does it all mean? Why are people more relaxed in green rooms? Why do weightlifters do their best in blue gyms? Seikou Yamaoka Paints Portraits on iPod Touch and iPad Japanese artist Seikou Yamaoka uses a $2.99 application called ArtStudio, and his fingertips to create incredible-looking portraits on his iPod Touch and iPad. And he does it all during a long train commute. It’s amazing what some people can do with their hands, but Seikou Yamaoka’s work is even more impressive considering he only uses his fingertips. By tapping and sliding his fingertip over the 3.5-inch screen of an iPod Touch, he creates beautiful portraits that look a lot like they’ve been painted with watercolor. That’s actually the talented artist’s goal – to produce images that look more like watercolour paintings than digital artworks. He uses ArtStudio, a cheap application available on the Apple App Store to create complex colorful images over several hours, during a train commute to work.
tutorial « JinSpiration A good friend and amazing artist Bram Vanhaeren and I decided to collaborate on an illustration to then create a tutorial for all the readers at Psdtuts+. We came up with a cool illustration that incorporates patterns, coloring, as well as 3D shapes. The most important thing about this is that it is all extremely simple to create so it shouldn’t be that difficult for anybody. There are a lot of new techniques here that I guarantee you’ll be using, so check this one out! Final Image Preview
Judith Ann Braun's Fingers Are Magical With an art career spanning more than three decades, Judith Ann Braun has tested the limits of her artistic musculature. She began as a self-described “realistic figure painter,” and worked through the struggles common to anyone who endeavors upon an artistic pursuit, that of searching for one’s own voice in the chosen medium. Fast forward to the 21st century where the evolution of Braun’s work has brought us to the Fingerings series, a collection of charcoal dust landscapes and abstracts “painted” using not brushes but her fingertips. Braun has a specific interest in symmetry, as evidenced by the patterns she follows in a number of the Fingerings pieces as well as work in the Symmetrical Procedures collection. Her fingerprints are obvious up close in some of the paintings, though a step back and the grandeur of Braun’s imagination sprawls into a landscape of soft hills, overhanging trees, delicate florals, and a reflective waterway.
