French astronaut Thomas Pesquet blasts off, back to the ISS It's T-minus zero for French astronaut Thomas Pesquet. The 43-year-old space veteran lifts off on Friday, bound for the International Space Station (ISS) aboard SpaceX's Crew Dragon capsule. The six-month mission, named Alpha, is a historic first as Pesquet will become the first French commander of a space station. On Monday, four days before lifting off for the International Space Station, Thomas Pesquet spoke to FRANCE 24 and RFI from Cape Canaveral, Florida. The French astronaut will travel to the ISS alongside one Japanese and two American companions on the SpaceX Crew Dragon. Once he arrives on the station, Pesquet's daily routine should look a lot like his first mission in space in 2016 and 2017.

I guess that could be interpreted as their purpose, but the work is not purposeful in and of itself. I guess "pay enough to take money off the table" covers that, so we're only talking about how to motivate people after they're at the comfortable level most Americans that read this blog are at. Interesting results in India, though. I believe there is a threshold that once you're paid a certain amount, you feel on top of things like you deserve it, so you don't work hard to move up further. If you take money completely off the table, or put the carrot completely away, there's not much to work for anymore.
With Maidens of Mystery - The artwork of Audrey Kawasaki Audrey Kawasaki is a Los Angeles-based painter, known for her characteristic works that are painted directly onto wood panels. Kawasaki studied fine art painting at the Pratt Institute in New York City, but left after two years without completing her degree. The emphasis that New York art standards put on conceptual art was at odds with her painting ideologies and was the reason for her leaving. The unique style that she renders to her artworks can be described as a fusion of eastern as well as western traditions such as Art Nouveau and Japanese Manga comics. Audrey’s paintings are portrayals of young, mesmerizing women who come across as innocent and tantalizing at once.

"So we're sitting on the launch pad, obviously, and when the engines lit, we all started laughing because it just felt so awesome and powerful," Shane Kimbrough, commander of the Crew-2 ferry flight to the International Space Station, said in an interview Thursday with CBS News. "Shortly after that, we started accelerating, heading uphill. "It was a great ride, very smooth," he said. "I don't remember any surprises, except we were just all very happy. We were all pretty excited to be on orbit again and feel that incredible acceleration."
