A TurtleBot Easter. A (VERY) Simple "Robot" (if we can call it that.) One of our members ask how he could build a robot but lacked parts, money, soldering iron and so on.

A (VERY) Simple "Robot" (if we can call it that.)

I decided I would try to come up with the simplest way a small "robot" car could be done without all those things. He said he had an old car he could use, and that he had some motors and wires. Without a soldering iron connections can be made by twisting wires together. It is not a good way, but will work for a little while. If your robot stops working check that the wires have not come loose. The only things I had to add in the line of "parts" were a couple capacitors and a resistor. I can tell you that the capacitors will be in the thousands of microfarads (also known as μFd, mfd, and uf).

The resistor should be as high as possible and still let the motor 2 turn and move the robot. The principle is this. Niko – Weekend progress. Mi Granja Digital. Selfmade 5 DOF Manipulator. Hello world!

Selfmade 5 DOF Manipulator

This is my very first robotic project. I made a 5 degrees of freedom manipulator arm completely from scratch. China Syndrome – a Robot that navigates around. ChuckCrunch from letsmakerobots found some parts on Ebay and came up with this idea to make a robot named China Syndrome that navigates around via ultrasound.

He has described some steps for you so that you can try making your own. The video shows how it moves and navigates itself to find its way. “It was a dull night on the internet , so i was searching Ebay for cheap parts and found lots of mini servos for around $4 + or – .50c ,some HC-SR04 sonar modules for around the same price , i also found some DC to DC converters for about $4. but they have not arrived yet (massive over kill for this bot ) so i am going with 3 AAs .well 4.5v from a power supply for developing the program :)”.

Project Phoenix (a sequel) UPDATE MAY the 11th, 2012 New updates can be found here: note: don't comment on that blog, comment here! Hello everyone, here i am again, making the sequel of a dismissed project called Project RNGTN w/c will also have the same face, and functions, but.....more smaller in size and more portable, as i have said before, it is my Magnum Opus (for my younger days) and i have never said this before, but i created this for the awareness of the orangutans (don't laugh) if you want more info, visit this link so...pictures, they worth a thousand words, what about a video (soz, no videos for now) UPDATE February the 12th, 2012. Daniel H. Wilson's book "Robopocalypse. " The only things my Yubin Kun has in common with his namesake are green intention lights and a "crude aluminum arm. " The object of the project was to build a Mac-based autonomous robot with high-utility potential. Hexapod Robot using Arduino Mega and 9g Servos. I have seen quite a lot of Hexapod robots on the internet with high torque servos with ATOM processors, but not the amazing Arduino with 9g servos, so I thought it might be a good project building one!

Hexapod Robot using Arduino Mega and 9g Servos

I don't usually have time during the week, so I do most the theory and calculations at nights, and leave the testing, building at weekends. I am very happy to share my code, but I don't want you to turn to me after downloading my code and say, "hey you code won't work! " So I won't publish it until I am happy with it. it's kind of messy also, and it requires a lot of tidy ups!

This robot is based on the Arduino Mega 2560, currently controlled by a WII nunchuck controller. It's got 18 3-dollar 9g servos, and is using 2 packs 4xAA batteries 4.8V. Robot Party! I have been doing some BEAM bot work on the side. Nothing exciting but I wanted to keep making them to get some practice/experience for future projects with solar circuits. This is basically a replica of the solar spinner thats posted here . I will add more pictures soon. Pictures and video added. Update: Added a 10uF capacitor between pin 2 and 3 of the 1381 voltage trigger as a timing capacitor. Finished picture after adding the 10uF timing capacitor and removing the .22F super cap.

Large Tracked Robot - Initial Testing. Bot4Julia, a Start Here CD robot, Arduino clone. This is a Start Here robot style I built for my daughter Julia, so she can have something to play with, because she keeps bugging me wanting to play with my MiniEric robot.

(I allow her to remote control it some times, but she still grabs his arms and breaks the servo gears.) Here is Bot4Julia. To build one, the recipe is simple. SPEAR v2 - arduino 6wd robot platform. Omnibot mk1 by Michal Zalewski. CRUNCH test1. Scooder. Project #1 - object avoiding robot that's afraid of the dark. Hi, This is my first project, a basic object avoiding robot based on the Start Here tutorial, but using Arduino. It uses an IR sensor to detect objects and decides which way is best to go, when it goes somewhere dark it will turn around. I've made some changes to the code and the build of the robot, changed the build to make it a little bit tidier, but also needed to make it a bit easier for the robot to turn. Main reason to change the build though was that everything was stuck together using foamtape, which was fine, but this included the arduino. Zenshin. Time to build includes also time i spent playing with arduino before i even started works on the chassis. price is for motors, motor holders, wheels, Qik, arduino and 2 mini breadboards. i also bought some IR LEDS and resistors, capacitors etc. but those costs are next to nothing compared to arduino and motors :) i just started to work on the main body, so that i can put motors and battery packs on it. right now i can start working on the motor control. i tried arduino together qith qik just to turn on the LEDs and it worked, so i hope it will work with motors as well.i attached 3 pictures from current state. a bit of craftwork today, i made a tentacle sensor for my new robot from steel string, screw and a piece of universal printed circuit. i will get some pictures later. i added video of the motors running. arduino and QIK are not put together yet in one chassis, i just connected them to prove cocept :) now i can work on making the body stick together and start adding sensors.

5 axis robotic arm. Arduino Nano + Undershield. Self Navigating Robot. Here's my first robot that I’ve been working on lately. At the moment it navigates via the Ping))) ultrasonic sensor. When it detects an object in front of it, it scans left and right and determines which direction is greater, then turns and travels in that direction (timing still rough). The main purpose of this robot was to learn more about programming and electronics in general. I'm studying renewable energy engineering at uni, but a recent course project involving building a robot and using an Arduino got me really interested in robotics! If all goes well, i'd like to use it to perform particular tasks, like going underneath the house to set rat traps, moving objects from one room to another or even finding the best place throughout the day to position a solar panel in my yard!.

Things that still need to be added: Roving robotic scarecrows battle airport birds. It sounds like something out of a Marvel Comic: an atomic research institute and a weapons manufacturer team up to create a new robot.

Roving robotic scarecrows battle airport birds

But instead of fighting crime, this new semi-autonomous robot will be fighting birds. "They were originally commissioned by the military to prevent bird strikes at military airports," said Yi Jongmin, head of public relations at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI). The robotics lab at KAERI spearheaded the development -- officially dubbed "Airport Birdstrike Prevention System" -- in conjunction with weapons manufacturer LIG Nex1 (whose company website, by the way, is one of the most intense we've ever seen).

The controller directs up to four semi-autonomous robots from a base in the airport. Bird strikes remain one of the top problems for airlines and airports around the world. According to International Civil Aviation Organization numbers, 400 people have died as a result of bird strikes since 2003, while 420 aircraft have been damaged. My Arduino Ping Display Robot. I decided to build a robot that could navigate around the house, know it's location, pickup items, (bottles, cans ect) and move them to another location. Although I still have some bugs to fix, it mostly works. The chassis is and RC tank made by Heng-Long, about $75.
