Some say it is 75 words long and others say 1500, but we will write 150 words. In this text you remove all extra words like adjectives, adverbs, names, personifications and metaphors. That means that you as a writer leaves the reader to read outside the text and to create his or her own images of the characters and setting in the text. We will use Banksy´s pictures to create our flash fictions to leave an image in our head and to give the reader another one. This is how you write your flash fiction: Choose one picture by Banksy You can choose from the pictures at the bottom of this page. Start in the middle You don’t have time in this very short form to set scenes and build character. Don’t use too many characters You won’t have time to describe your characters in a ultra-short text.

Make sure the ending isn’t at the end Avoid that the reader stops reading – place the ending in the middle of the story. #ourfuturejobs. I år 8 arbetar vi just nu med temat #ourfuturejobs.

En lektion med digitala verktyg. Responding to students’ writing. I have called this post responding to writing, rather than error correction on writing, as I believe that there is a lot more to responding to written work than simply correcting errors.

Responding to students’ writing

To begin with, it is very important to respond to the content of the writing as well as the form. Otherwise we risk being like this teacher: Effective and efficient techniques for giving feedback on writing. Marking written work can be incredibly time-consuming, and it’s disheartening when you see the students glance quickly at your detailed comments and put the piece of writing away in their bags never to be looked at again.

Effective and efficient techniques for giving feedback on writing

So, what can be done to a) reduce your workload as a teacher and b) encourage students to actually learn something from your feedback*? We all know that it’s important to get students to take responsibility for their own work and many teachers use a correction code to encourage students to self-correct. This can be useful, but you still need to be selective. Too many corrections/comments can lead to the student feeling overwhelmed and demotivated, and/or the student not knowing which of these areas are high priorities. Skillswise - Spelling. Neil Shipley's Watching the Swedes

While we are free to think what we want, I believe it’s all too simplistic to focus on the negative and complain about Sweden or Swedes. It’s very easy to focus on what Sweden is not, rather than what it is. Recently, I’ve been a lot in Asia and Latin America, far away from Sweden and my family and friends. Sometimes when we’re confronted by new environments, it is then we realize what we appreciate about our home locations. I’ve been putting some thought into it.
