So, the passing of the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s ”I Have a Dream” speech in Washington, D.C., and the coming of his 85th birthday, have inspired me to ponder the subject of inequality further and to “wash [my own] windows,” as Thoreau has directed, in an effort to elucidate the perspective herein. To be sure, I have long needed to dust off and re-hang my own poorly neglected dream catcher behind the stained glass, yet this is precisely why anniversaries are so important: they remind us of what should have been unforgettable in the first place. Perhaps by joining my wobbly glider of complacency to the luminous tail-feathers of King’s soaring spirit, I can gain some sense of reconciliation as we descend through the grand cumulus clouds of contemplation he has left in his wake. Mentors are supporters who's main focus is on educating themselves to the highest level on the aims and proposals of The Venus Project, with the goal of using this achieved level of understanding to help educate others locally, regionally and globally to the same standards through online lectures, seminars, study groups and more.
Achieving the level of mentor will require extensive study of The Venus Project and its proposals, as well as relevant areas relating to human and ecological wellbeing. The level of competence in understanding The Venus Project's proposals, along with the ability to accurately and effectively communicate it to others, will be tested through a series of online assessments and assignments throughout the mentor program. Note: Some elements of this program are currently in development. The length of the course is 48 sessions and each session is up to 3 hours in length. During the tour, Jacque Fresco will speak for several hours, Roxanne Meadows will walk you around the grounds showing and describing the models, they will present a 12-minute DVD, and take any questions you may have. This will give you a better understanding of yourself and the world around you. The cost of the lecture and tour is $200 for each person or household.
