Sundararaman, Chairman, Indian Technical Textile Association (ITTA), highlighted that electronic clothing will dominate in the next 10 years and products made from biodegradable waste will be in demand. Ronak Rughani, Chairman, The Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC), insisted that Indian brands should explore overseas markets as so far there is not even a single Indian brand that is globally well known.

It claims that the new tool will be the culmination of a partnership with the world’s largest online textile and clothing sourcing network, Foursource – a specialist in digital textile sourcing solutions. This solution, which will be available from 1 September 2020 on the trade fair websites, is available for a renewable period of 6 months to exhibitors at the February edition (1-4 February 2021) of the Paris trade fairs. More than 2,000 wholesalers and importers from across the globe have registered themselves for the event and organisers are on their toes to ensure the visit of more than 7,000 global buyers. The event, organised by Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), will take place virtually from 13 to 18 July 2020. EPCH to hold IHGF Textiles Virtual Fair from 15 June. After reveling in the overwhelming success of its first ever online edition of the India Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Show, the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) is all set to organise an online trade show, IHGF (Indian Handicrafts & Gifts Fair) Textiles Virtual Fair, expecting more than 350 exporters, manufacturers and buyers to join them.

The trade show will be spread across 4 days, beginning Monday, from 15 to 18 June. EPCH wrote on its Facebook page that they are looking forward to welcoming all big and small business buyers, wholesalers, retailers, importers, domestic volume buyers, buying & selling agents and hospitality buyers from across the world to explore what India has to offer in textiles, home furnishings and floor coverings. The 49th IHGF Delhi Fair, initially scheduled to be held in February 2020 and later postponed to April, could not see the light of the day owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent nationwide lockdown. The three-day-long premier show for technical textiles noticed 23 per cent surge in exhibitors, as 192 companies are displaying advanced solutions in this year’s event. Technical textiles is one of the most dynamic sectors in India, which is growing at a CAGR of 20 per cent to reach US $ 28.7 billion by 2020-21 from US $ 16.6 billion in 2017-18.
