Arnor Arnor, i.e. the Northern Kingdom, was a kingdom of the Dúnedain in the land of Eriador in Middle-earth. The name probably means "Land of the King", from Sindarin Ara- (high, kingly) + (n)dor (land). History Edit Blood sugar sex magik: examining Dragon Age's Morrigan I just finished Dragon Age: Origins the other day, and was truly surprised to have enjoyed it as much as I did. I'm not really a fan of tactical RPGs, nor the swords-n-sorcery setting Dragon Age halfheartedly gussies up with a few dozen buckets of blood. Still, I have to admit it's one of the better RPGs I've ever played. Part of that is due to the fact that, for seemingly the first time ever, I actually enjoyed playing as a mage. Equally surprising, however, were the characters: yes, they fell into the established tough guy/sexy chick/pure woman cliches, but they never really felt as boring as they by all rights should have.

The Video Games of Today Reimagined in 8 and 16 Bits Today’s games are great, but they just don’t carry the same immeasurable nostalgic value as, say, Chrono Trigger, Link’s Awakening, or even Number Crunchers. Now Stockholm-based pixel artist Junkboy has hypothesized for Swedish magazine Level what it might have looked like had contemporary games—Arkham Asylum, Bioshock, Guitar Hero, Little Big Planet, Red Dead Redemption, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Soul Calibur, and more—existed in the golden age of 8- and 16-bit gaming. Of course, several of these games indeed had low-bit predecessors! Compare the full series of “demake” images to their modern originals, below. Arkham Asylum

Big Daddy (Bioshock) I finally lost my mind enough to try to tackle one of these big guys. For those unfamiliar, Big Daddys are the protectors of the Little Sisters in Rapture, an underwater city devoid of morality which has degenerated into chaos and insanity. They are huge, fast, strong, and as it turns out, a solid pain in the ass to build. The Secret Invasion - Crimson Skies Wiki - a Wikia Gaming wiki Thanks to that cipher machine you retrieved from the Balmoral, you now know the secret British base in the Hawaiian archipelago, and a recon flight reveals a complete establishment with a zeppelin repair dock, officer's headquarters and a labour camp that forces prisoners to work on an airstrip construction. Big John (who is African-American) is rightfully outraged when he hears that... Plot thickens when Zachary explains that King George wants to expand his chain of naval bases ranging from Singapore to Japan, and from here they are gonna spread their imperialistic influence.
Forge World - Warhammer 40K Wiki - Space Marines, Chaos, planets, and more A Forge World is the Imperial term for the numerous planets that are directly controlled by the Adeptus Mechanicus. All have in common a complete dedication to the manufacture of the various machines and devices of the Imperium, the pursuit of and preservation of (ancient) scientific and technical knowledge and the worship of the Machine God. Because of the Adeptus Mechanicus' monopoly on technical knowledge and expertise in Imperial culture, the Forge Worlds are the Imperium's primary source of all kinds of hardware: from farming equipment to war machines such as starships, tanks, aerospace fighters, or even Titans. Ancient pacts between the Adeptus Mechanicus and other worlds and institutions of the Imperium oblige the various Forge Worlds to supply other planets and the various military arms of the Imperium such as the Imperial Guard with the products of their manufactoria.
