As a person who relies heavily on the PC as a genealogical repository and information processor, tools that help me sort and process the information I gather are highly valued (prized). In all fairness, I also ought to restate that I rarely (VERY rarely) work with any software outside of the OpenSource (or Free) realm unless I have a hugely compelling reason to do so. I must, additionally, admit that I am very new to many (read almost all) of these tools.

Banner creation tool : Learning Management System : The University of Melbourne LMS subjects and communities are provided with a basic default template which is fully customisable. As subject coordinator, you can customise the subject by adding or removing items from the subject menu, adding and removing items from content pages, changing the default entry point, changing the colour scheme (animated guide) and/or adding a subject banner. Many subjects are taught from year to year so you may be starting with a copy of the previously taught materials inside your subject. It is important to check all material for compliance with the University's copyright obligations, as well as reviewing the relevance, availability and currency of the material, especially if adaptive release rules have been used. Subjects on the LMS must show certain features (as defined in the LMS framework):

That's my family - Origin and purposes of the federated search engine Marriage Records Index: The Your Folks database is associated to the federated search engine. So, the purpose of this page is to serve as a guideline, if preliminary, to citing genealogically related material found on the Internet. For the most part, the citation examples below are modeled after traditional citation styles. A dedicated search engine for genealogy research. The main advantage to using a dedicated tool like this is that it filters out the noise from standard search engines (Google, Bing, etc) by harvesting data from family search websites. They also include searches in digital documents that they make available via their website (Mocavo Documents) Mocavo also offer a multitude of facets that can be used to filter out content such as date of birth, excluding words and word proximity. Unfortunately this feature is available to premium users (for a fee) only. I can only appreciate, working on my genealogy abroad, that such tools are making their appearance in search even though, by itself, Mocavo is not the single genealogy website to use for your family research. by marylenegoulet Apr 5
