Dramatic Fairy Sculptures Dancing With Dandelions By Robin Wight. While fairies may be mythical creatures, a talented sculptor has managed to create stunning sculptures of the winged beings that practically look like they could come to life at any moment.

Dramatic Fairy Sculptures Dancing With Dandelions By Robin Wight

UK based sculptor Robin Wight, who mainly works with stainless steel wire, creates amazingly enchanting fairy sculptures, many of which seem to be dancing in or struggling against the wind. For those interested in learning just how Wight creates his fairy masterpieces, he’s very open about his process and offers explanations of each step in great detail. After visiting the site of instillation and deciding on a pose, Wight sketches the fairy figure and then converts it into a scale model. From there, he begins to form the skeleton of the sculpture. A strong steel rod is usually used as a mounting bracket and twisted wire, bent to match the fairy’s size, creates the rest of the skeleton.

From there, Wight adds further details, like hands and feet, a hat, and wings. Peter Brooke's Stone Sculptures. Ok, i’m a little bit obsessed with marble, stones and diversion of materials right now.

SCULPTURE: LEE JAE HYO. Nature never fails to elicit awe but Lee Jae-Hyo is presenting contemplations of natural form so stark they almost seem alien. The Korean artist relies not only on what he can glean from surrounding natural objects, his method, too, derives from the uncontrolled, accidental processes of nature. From giant, purely sculptural pieces, to more utilitarian tables or benches, Lee transforms the wild into the aesthetic. Lee Jae-Hyo's amazing wooden tables. Sculptures of wood Lee Jae-Hyo. The molted feathers of pigeons. She uses these feathers in great numbers to create vivid pieces of artwork. The process is painstaking but the outcome is brilliant. Kate creates such intricate patterns and designs; and it really gives her pieces an uncanny flow and movement. . - Kate MccGwire’s work asks questions about the very nature of beauty - She’s intrigued by the possibility of envisaging beauty as something more complex than merely what delights the senses: beauty can be about a problem; it can be something that repels you or makes you question the status quo - The idea that it is a cultural phenomenon, susceptible to argument through the creative process, fascinates her - Much of Kate’s work references Freud’s ‘Unheimliche’ (the uncanny, or, literally, the ‘unhomely’); the idea, to quote Freud, of ‘a place where the familiar can somehow excite fear’.
