Yes Lab: APEC World Leaders Dinner Gets Occupied

http://yeslab.org/apec Honolulu - A change in the programmed entertainment at last night's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) gala left a few world leaders slack-jawed, though most seemed not to notice that anything was amiss. During the gala dinner, renowned Hawaiian guitarist Makana , who performed at the White House in 2009, opened his suit jacket to reveal a home-made “Occupy with Aloha” T-shirt. Then, instead of playing the expected instrumental background music, he spent almost 45 minutes repeatedly singing his protest ballad released earlier that day .
It remains to be seen whether the Occupy Wall Street protests will change America’s direction. Yet the protests have already elicited a remarkably hysterical reaction from Wall Street, the super-rich in general, and politicians and pundits who reliably serve the interests of the wealthiest hundredth of a percent. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/10/opinion/panic-of-the-plutocrats.html

This could become a 24/7 task. I know many stories will be missed. by iquitoz Nov 24

agreed, only that there are many sides. How to organise them to all be heard is quite a task. Let's see who will come up with new organisational proposals by notpicnic Nov 24

You are correct, @meekon5. Hard to be unbiased but both sides should be presented. Now with the pepper spray incident, a new level has been forced upon the movement. by iquitoz Nov 24

It's important to try and get the other side of the story out there.

I notice it's not mentioned a lot in the news here in the UK. by meekon5 Nov 23

Thats for sure, incredible! I am trying, too. I don't want to diffuse information by doubling it. So i try to complete other Occupy parts. But, You are enormous and it doesn't seem to run out!

thanks schenz, one learns a lot just by trying to keep pace with an event like this by notpicnic Nov 21
