http://www.maniacworld.com/optical-illusions.html Optical Illusions Optical illusion are characterized by visually perceived images that are deceptive or misleading. The information gathered by the eye is processed by the brain to give a percept that does not tally with a physical measurement of the stimulus source. There are two main types of illusion - physiological illusions that are the effects on the eyes and brain of excessive stimulation of a specific type - brightness, tilt, color, movement, and cognitive illusions where the eye and brain make unconscious inferences. These optical illusion pictures, animations, and videos below have been collected by Maniac World over the years (don't worry - you won't find any scary optical illusions that will pop out at you here):

Visual Guide To Patterns In The Mandelbrot Set Regions, Patterns, Variations, Combinations, Embedded julia Sets, Number Sequences This guide to patterns in the Mandelbrot Set is created for general fractal enthusiasts and is not a technical essay. I was inspired by other guides online (such as Mu-Ency ) which are a bit too technical for non-mathematicians or don't provide visual examples for region names. http://www.miqel.com/fractals_math_patterns/mandelbrot_fractal_guide.html Patterns of Math - Visual Guide to the Mandelbrot Set
