GIRLS ON FILM: LONDON SHORT FILM FESTIVAL. Posted on January 8, 2014 From 10th January, some of the UK’s most cutting-edge film makers will be taking over our favourite cinemas for the London Short Film Festival.
Now in it’s 11th year, the LSFF has grown a reputation for showcasing the very best independent film talent around and we can’t wait to see what’s on offer this year. The festival opens with ‘The Punk Singer’ in association with Birds Eye View, a documentary about Kathleen Hanna – the badass front woman known for leading punk bands Bikini Kill and Le Tigre. Queen of the 90s riot grrrl movement, she became one of the most famously outspoken feminist icons of her generation. Catch the screening to be taken on a fascinating tour of the punk scene and a look into the life of this fearless leader.
