Some time ago I made experiments with different dot patterns. The first and most simple one was a radial dot pattern with variable amouts and sizes of dots – see below. Another way to create nice dot patters is to use attractor objects that influence the size of each dot in a grid. In the picture below the distance of each dot to a curve determines its size – the closer the distance, the larger a dot. Patterns can also be arranged along a curve, another simple dot pattern in this case: 3D IKEA furniture for use in AutoCAD, Google SketchUp » IKEA FANS. For those of you seeking to find IKEA furniture, IKEA kitchen cabinets and other IKEA projects in 3D for use in AutoCAD, Google Sketchup or other 3D rendering software, we’ve found a gem of a project by skulking around over on Twitter.

Our objects are drawn, textured and rendered in the highest quality level, and are available in all architectural software formats. UPDATE! An inkjet printed stripe-type color filter of liquid crystal display - Abstract - Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering. In this paper, we propose a comprehensive concept and new design of a drop-on-demand (DOD) inkjet printing process for fabricating color filter (CF) layers of liquid crystal displays (LCDs) onto the structured surfaces of flat substrates, composed of 'physical sidewalls' for aligning and controlling the liquid morphology.
Several fundamental guidelines of the design have been addressed in current inkjet-printing techniques. Using a droplet generator (printhead) of the deposition system, the color-ink drops can be jetted and placed over the specific domains, where the sidewalls align the flow merged from a stream of droplets and fulfill the coverage of the defined areas, in which the geometrical relations correlating the droplets and sidewalls are explicitly expressed in the study. Corian Super-Surfaces Showroom by Amanda Levete Architects. London practice Amanda Levete Architects were awarded the Interiors and Fit-Out Prize at the World Architecture Festival in Barcelona last week for their Corian Super-Surfaces Showroom in Milan.
Inspired by ripples on water, the installation features twisted strips of solid surface material that form seating, display shelving and partitions. The forms are lit from between gaps in these panels.
