Egg In A Jar. I sometimes find myself at a crossroad when it comes to preparing an original recipe to keep people entertained and intrigued at the table.

Egg In A Jar

Most of the time, I like to rely on the use of different and unique ingredients, some of which are not always commonly available in mainstream grocery stores. It makes it less simple and more time consuming to prepare some of these more original and creative recipes. This is especially true when you have to go across town to get that one special ingredient. This time around I asked myself about how I could prepare something different while using only simple ingredients that can be found anywhere.

The easiest way when using simple ingredients and trying to keep it interesting and different is often in the final presentation or the preparation of the dish. I enjoy preparing and serving this dish to guests mainly because of their surprise when getting a full and delicious breakfast or lunch in a single glass jar. PREP: 10 min. COOK: 35 min. Ingredients. They were HUGE, so I only treated myself to one every once in awhile, but it was a muffin I will never forget. Randomly, last night, these “Morning Glory” muffins popped into my head. I hadn’t thought about them in years, but suddenly I really wanted one, so I had a little fun in the kitchen and came up with my own version. And I have to admit, in my 4.5 years of blogging, this is probably the best muffin I have ever created. In fact, they’re so good, only one is left this morning. Long live the oatcake. Bircher muesli is one of the best ways to start the day – naturally sweet and oh so nourishing, it really does give you the sustenance to skip out the door. Bircher muesli was created circa 1900 by a Swiss German physician Maximilian Bircher-Benner to nurse his patients back to health the old fashioned way – with a hearty injection of nutrients derived from raw food. It is essentially a combination of oats, fruit and nuts, soaked in juice overnight. There are many variations of the original and the way that I enjoy mine is super creamy, full of spice and packed with plumped-up super fruit.

Bircher muesli is also very practical – it’s simple to prepare at night whilst cooking your dinner and is easily transported if you are taking a container full to work or, much preferably, the park to eat.
