Where To Eat Pancakes In London Buttermilk pancakes at The Book Club It’s Shrove Tuesday on 4 March. In days gone by we’d have been preparing ourselves for the rigours of Lent, but in these more secular times the main element that’s lasted is eating up all the lovely eggs and milk. Granger & Co We went for brunch at Bill Granger’s Notting Hill outlet last year, and have just started salivating at memories of the honeycomb butter that accompanies its ricotta hotcakes. Granger & Co is at 175 Westbourne Grove, W11. Shutterbug We went to Shutterbug with good intentions to have a savoury crepe – the chorizo, cheddar and avocado if you must know – but then the chap behind the counter pointed to the sweet crepes that are also available at lunchtime. Shutterbug is at 1 Rivington Place, EC2A. The Breakfast Club We first tried to visit The Breakfast Club’s Soho joint on a Sunday morning. The Breakfast Club has branches in Angel, Soho, Hoxton, Spitalfields, Battersea Rise and coming to London Bridge in May 2014. The Book Club

Arlo & Moe - Brockley First to Review Why? Amazing coffeeGorgeous, simple foodOrgasmic cakes1950's tunesClean, vintage inspired designFriendly service The plan was to meet David and Sarah for brunch at 11. I had missed David's leaving drinks before he goes to Afghanistan for a couple of months and wanted to see him before he left and we all wanted to go support Jules since A&M has just opened- so it worked out. I had a white americano while I was waiting for my friends to arrive and I immediately knew I was in good hands. For brunch, my hung over self decided to skip any pretence of eating something healthy and had the Sexy Toast with scrambled egg and chorizo. After eating and chatting and digesting we were compelled by Jules bringing out a chocolate Guinness cake and a carrot cake under glass cake domes to each have a slice. Oh. Along with fab food, coffee and cake, there is a friendly buzz. David tweeted later: @davidwebb_ukWonderful brunch at @ArloMoe with @treefroggirl and @Potty4pink. Happy and fat indeed.

zomato Mother's Day is just around the corner but yesterday I had the pleasure of my Mum joining me in London a week early! It also happens that Des McDonald, owner of Upper Street's The Fish & Chips Shop, has opened a new venture this weekend called Q Grill. Located in Camden, it specialises in BBQ'd and smoked treats with a high emphasis on quality, while surprisingly not crippling the wallet! Meat lovers of North London should rejoice, as this is one spot that will be on the lips of all foodies in more ways that one! The interior of Q Grill is exactly what I expected from Des McDonald, having sampled one of his other ventures, Holborn Dining Room, earlier this month. As always, we started with the drinks menu, looking for a delicious tipple to kick back and sip, while we perused the food options and caught up on family gossip. The cocktail menu is broken into four subsections of Coupes, Tankards, Highballs & Rocks (On The). The mains were the real talking points though! Enjoy!
