In December 2015, I shared a holiday sangria recipe that broke the internet. Okay, totally kidding. But, it was the most popular post I’d shared (until this one). I had a giant spike in traffic, my Pinterest went insane, all because of this sangria. Beetroot Latte - Heavenlynn Healthy. Hot Blender Chocolate + Vitamix Competition. We’ve had intense snow falls and cold days here in Stockholm for the past week.

Hot Blender Chocolate + Vitamix Competition

A weather that calls for furry sweaters, warm soups, spicy stews and large cups of hot chocolate. Our favourite chocolate recipe is thick, rich, creamy, vegan and insanely delicious. And we are sharing it here today, along with a competition to win a Vitamix blender (further down in this post). We actually make our chocolate directly in the blender, which not only saves dishes but also makes it perfectly frothy.

This recipe is based on one of the recipes from our smoothie book, but we have adapted it slightly for our current mood. We use soaked cashews, soft dates and salt for a plant based creamy sweet milk. Hot Superfood Chocolate - Heavenlynn Healthy. I am so excited to share this hot superfood chocolate recipe with you as it’s one of my favorite at the moment.

Hot Superfood Chocolate - Heavenlynn Healthy

I literally drink it every morning and every night when I’m all cuddled up on the sofa. I was always a fan of hot chocolate but disliked all the loads of sugar that you find in literally every hot chocolate on the globe. So I’ve tried many different versions, different plant based milks, dates, honey, different kinds of spices, but I finally found the version that works best for me. It’s not overly sweet, but has a strong chocolate-y flavor, and it also tastes a lot like fall and winter. The superfood idea for the hot chocolate came to me, when I added loads of turmeric to my hot chocolate.

Then I gave up regular soda because of the high sugar content and switched to diet soda. Next we were warned to avoid the chemicals in diet soda; and more recently studies have indicated that diet soda actually causes rather than prevents weight gain (source). Ginger and Lemon Shots. Quickly before I go into this post I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the support and lovely comments about the book – you guys are just beyond amazing!

I’ve been doing these lemon and ginger shots most mornings over January and they’ve been making me feel so good! They just take a minute or so to make and 2 seconds to drink, but they do wonders for your body. The ginger is so soothing for the digestive system, it’s quite spicy though so it’s nice to mix it with the lemon as the lemon really takes the edge off the spice. Chia & Açai Fresca. © 2014 Green Kitchen Stories I hear a soft bounce and walk into Elsa’s room. She is lying on the floor right beside her bed, sleeping with the teddy bear as a pillow. I’m not sure why she does this, but it’s not the first time she crawls down from the bed in the middle of the night. It looks so uncomfortable there on the floor, but somehow she seems surprisingly peaceful. With only hours, days or weeks (hopefully not) left until Elsa’s little brother arrives, I have come to think a lot about her and how our family of three soon will have a new dynamic. And the same goes to you friends.
